Remarks

The first thing I liked about my University was it's reputation. The tag "Cottonian" is something which cannot be expressed through words. The University not only excels in academics but also in sports and other co curriculums as well. And the Environment where our University is situated is pretty soothing. The moto of excelling in every field drove me to take admission in this University. The faculty, the non teaching staff as well as the seniors were very friendly. The University also provides us the platform to earn a fame which every student dreams to attain at some point of their academics career. Also almost every facility has been provided starting from chilled drinking water to photocopying documents. And on a lighter side, the fact that there's no uniform for the students has also driven me to prioritize this University at some point.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course was pretty updated. Cotton University has that protocol to upgrade the course of the professional studies after a term of every 3 years. We were provided enough industrial exposure as well.We had been taken to a number of educational trips and also seminars were conducted from time to time as well. We have had 50+ seminars in our three years course. Excursion was also conducted during our final year. The faculties were pretty helpful and friendly. There was one faculty who was my favourite out of all the faculties. His name was Dhruba Jyoti Borah. He had a great personality and he has motivated me throughout my college life.

Placement Experience

2

The placement is quite poor. Our department had a recruitment program from WIPRO where 65 students applied out of which only one got selected.

College Events

4.5

Our University has organized a number of nationally recognized events;starting from the National Level Debate to organizing seminars on upgradation of latest technologies. Cotton has a tremendous number of talents. To give them a platform to showcase themselves, Cultural events are frequently organized. The University also practices every religious festivals and every individual respects the diversity of the state. The Management provides a handsome amount of funds to organise events. So there is no question of stepping back from organizing any grand event in the premises. The University also sends students to perform in National Level Competitions. I was a part of the University Football Team which took part in All India University Games that took place in Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh.

Campus Life

The infrastructure lacked certain things but still had a standard. The sports facilities were pretty good. We had upgraded accessories and we have also seen some students who started to play as amateurs during their initial days but at the end of their college life they achieved a lot of success in that particular sport they opted. But the lack of availability of grounds puts a barrier. The University has got a quite good quality equipments but lacks a proper space to practice. The wifi facility has not been provided throughout the campus except for the library and the academic building. The size of the library is pretty huge. Infact the library of our university is one of the oldest libraries in the state. The lab equipments are kept upgraded time to time and maintenance of the machines and the equipments are professionally handled as well.

Specific aspects of the curriculum is that our college tried to give internship to the students. It is average the curriculum prepare me for the real world applications. It is better for us teacher explain theory by doing practical in lab. The frequency is fast so exam is little bit difficult

Course Curriculum Overview:

• I always loved plants, trees and forest as my father is from Forest background. So, I wanted to walk on his footsteps and do something is same background. I always dreamt of making a change in the society and serve the society so I choose Botany subject. •The curriculum is planned in such a way that we learn both theoretically and practically, we go on field trips where we interact with common people and do surveys that will help us in future while working on the department •There is no such areas that needs improvement, I like the way it is going on and the teaching method is also nice, only the thing is there should not be so many classes in one day, as a student gets very exhaust •The frequency and timing of exams is that in sessional its 25 marks with 1 hour 30 minutes and its easy to moderate, and 2nd is final which is of 50 marks with 2 hours 30 minutes and its moderate to hard
