Tharun's Review On PSG Polytechnic College, Coimbatore

My course duration is around 3 years in which we are taught about areas such as composites such as nano technology that led to the development of mechanical engineering science. In the later years, we are given insights about the strengths of material, hydraulics, pneumatics and to analyze problems and develop/test prototypes of devices that the company designs.

The Placements of our college are really excellent. Approximately, 80% of the total engineers of our college have achieved high levels of job satisfaction in various fields such as ground vehicle systems, system dynamics and control, biomedical/engineering fluid mechanics and many more. From my batch, students have been selected for the roles of senior mechanical engineers and mechanical design engineers from top firms of the country.

The total fees of the year is around 1850 for first year and 1800 for second and third year respectively. Thus the total fees for 3 years is around 5450 excluding the hostels and mess charges. We also have to fill a security deposit and registration fees in the first year of our college. Thus their fees is quite feasible for me.

The students are given scholarships on their basis of good acadmics performance. Many otehr scholarships schemes are offered to the childrens of defence personal, ex-servicemen and deceased government servants. The amount of the scholarship are disbursed to the students concerned in their bank account through the ECS by the college departments.

Our college offers a part time job as serving as the chief editor of our college newspaper. We also have many events such as Dancing competition, Face painting, Playing Regional Orchestra and many other multicultural activities. Such activities are basically performed by students who are generally social, philanthropic and want to form relationship and foster learning with other students at the college.

The students should have passed 10th class with a minimum of 35% and they should also have Maths and Science in class 12th. The students who have completed ITI Diploma can also apply. The admission process in this college is strictly based on the merit and the students who have scored well are given admission in this college.

Teachers of this college are very very supportive, kind and helpful who doesn't ignore the slightest doubt in the minds of the students. They are exceptionally skilled in their fields of study, design and development and tell us about the various activity sectors such as heat transfer, thermodynamic, fluid mechanics, etc so that we gain practical insides from our course of studies.
