Remarks

At times you may feel that it is a sarkari College and may be exams may not be conducted on time. But never worry, it's manegement is quite good. Every thing happens on its time. If you are able to get admission in this College, you are lucky.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Since it is under University of Calcutta, the syllabus is as decided by the University. Professors try to provide practical insight to the real world scenario. semester exams happen in six months and the teachers prepare you quite well for the exams. Also a mock exam is conducted before the University exam so that you are well prepared.

Placement Experience

3.5

Generally big 4s come for placement but as students are posting CA along side, not much students take up the placement offers. Average offers range at about 7 LPA.

College Events

5

College fest is the biggest event. Apart from that, there are several events such as talent show, quiz, discussion are organised round the year. Also a lot of sponsors come to our College to for the events specially for the College fest. Also rhe College arranges technical session from industry experts.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Very very low, since it is a govt College. Approximately around 2500 per year including your donation to students union. Its like metro fare will be more than your College fee. The College fees is decided by the government and a complete break up is provided for the same.

Fees and Financial Aid

The College does provides Scholarship for need cum merit students. But I didn't applied for one since the fee is already very low.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus Life is very good provided you spend time in the campus and you are a day batch student. I was a morning student and and had coaching classes all the day for my CA exams couldn't spend much time in campus. It is the best b. com college of Kolkata. The College has almost equal gender ratio.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

No. The College does not provide hostel facility. It is degree College and generally degree colleges in Kolkata do not provide hostel facility. You will have to arrange your own accommodation. In Kolkata there are a lot of option for hostel and you can get hostel in all the price range. From about rs 2000 per month to anything Sonia 15000 per month.

Alumni/Alumna

You will find the College alumni is all the top brass companies. And yes when you come from same College you definately get an edge. I got help in finding my articleship.

Admission

The College takes admission based on the marks obtained in class 12. Generally, the cut off for CBSE students is around 92 to 96 percent. It has both morning and day batch and hence is very suitable for students pursuing CA. Also, attendance is compulsory but it can be managed very easily. And also not to be forget, it is the most repeated College under University of Calcutta. Since the fee of the College is very low, students here are very modest and come from a very humble background. Students are very studious.

Faculty

4.5

The professors are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic to discuss new concepts. They always focus on the overall growth of the students. A few professors are quite young are themselves a researcher doing their Ph. D. At times you may mot like them because of attendance issues. But they are apart from an expert in their subject are a very good human beings.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is of course outdated. Teaching methods are old. No case studies, competitions or project of any sort is there in the curriculum. Although a project of 100 marks is there in the final sem, but I don't think that's enough. There is no practicality in the curriculum and usability in career. The syllabus really needs an uplifment.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is average , I chose this course because I wanted to do an honours degree and I'm from commerce background so my first pick was B.Com . They really put efforts to prepare students for well future , as I said earlier some teachers are genuinely very good helpful supporting and good at what they do . Something they need to approve is the 70% attendance criteria, I think they need to understand not every student is just persuing graduation they are doing some other courses or jobs etc so they can't maintain 70% attendance . The frequency of timing is average

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum is Comprehensive, focused equally on Academics and Practical Exposure.. I chose because of that extra year of research I can choose to do in my final year (4th year) of graduation and I'll have an Hons. Degree at the end of 4th year of my college... Practical insights makes sure we are being trained to tackle practical world and academic knowledge ensures we are eligible to apply for further Education.. I will say more focus on Practical Exposure and a little extra focus on Sports May Take This Curriculum to a different level..
