Course Curriculum Overview

4

Exam structure is pretty good which is in semester type and it's easy to prepare and sit for exams. Course curriculum includes poems, stories, plays and dramas as well as grammar. The course is for three years.

Placement Experience

3.5

Pholba Mahavidyalaya college doesn't provide any placements or job opportunities for its students as it deals with the general courses which requires further studies. To be specific, a higher degree in that respective field.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As compared to other colleges, the fees structure is more. This is what I feel. Their admission fee is not different. It's the same as the yearly fees for three years, which is Rs.5,325/-. It accounts to Rs.15,975/-.

Campus Life

4.5

Extracurricular activities as such doesn't take place. Only, the college is focused on studies. So therefore, there's the common room which is used by the students having few games facilities. Workshops are conducted on rare basis. Gender ratios are equal.

Hostel Facilities

4

Being a student of this college for the last one year, I haven't opted for the hostel facility as I don't need for I stay in Chandannagar. And, the important thing is that the hostels are not in that good condition.

Admission

Coming to the admission procedure, it is based on 12th examination 's marks that a student gets or equivalent examination. No interview or entrance exam is taken. On the basis of those marks, the eligibility criteria is set and students are shortlisted.

Faculty

4.5

Opinion about the faculty members is good. They communicate in English, bengali and Hindi for students to understand better. They are very much dedicated towards their work of teaching students. Notes aren't provided though.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are several prospects, especially peer-to-peer counseling, where you get a mentor. We call it mentor mentee program. So, there will be groups of students, and each group will have a mentor who helps you whenever you face any issues whether in real life or in your academic journey. They’re always there for you. There are also remedial classes, and extracurricular activities are included in the curriculum. You even get the freedom to choose what you want to pursue creatively, like joining poetry clubs and similar groups. Right now, I’m at Banaras University, and the curriculum here is really good. We have sessions on public speaking, how to conduct interviews, and many other practical skills. These are highly commendable because they help you in professional situations like the one I’m in now. However, I would say that teachers could be a bit more active with electronic tools like using PPT presentations or audio-visual methods instead long lecture sessions. As for exams, I wouldn’t say they’re too difficult because there are many weekly assessments and sessionals, which actually help you evaluate yourself better.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I used to read so many novels from my childhood and that inspired me in getting attracted to this field. We used to have the fecility of having seminar in the end of every month after compleating of each lessons. And this process helped us in true education. After every year professors from differnt parts of the country used to come for a seminer for overall groth of the students. Actually is theory teaching style is followed in the college, according to me some developments in the practical teaching can be used. Semister is held at the end of every six months and the exams are used to be moderate in nature.
