Life at UEM

The college will force you to do a lot of stuff just for the sake of your "good future" and that has a very negative impact in their students.

Course curriculum is vast too much in fact. You'll be learning coding this class economics the next. College provides you with more than enough classes and the worst part is you have to attend all of the classes you don't have a choice. This is sort of counterintuitive as students who don't have interest in a specific class should be able to opt out of it.

The best perk of this college is their placement. UEM's placement record is unrivalled in Kolkata. They maintain a good relation with major MNCs and provide them with students. The average salary a student gets is around 3.4 LPA. College provides internships at 3rd year.

They have a lot of events going around in the college all the time so much so half the time you'll lose track of them. There's two major events in the college though one is an annual technical fest called URECKON and the other is a cultural fest all ECSTASIA.

The fee structure is very feasible and is very transparent. You pay for the faculty and the library. You are getting what you paid for. The fee structure is very transparent and you can ask for a waiver if you want. The fee also includes the lab fees.

I didn't opt for a scholarship or an education loan. I'm pretty sure they don't have a scholarship going on. They might help you get an education loan though.

Even though the college hosts a lot of events don't expect to have a college life here because you'll relate your school days here. The college hosts workshops a lot of them even free ones. Hosts MUNs and debates too. Something for everyone. Some of the faculties are foreign nationals.

The alumni network isn't very strong so I wouldn't rely on that. The Senior students are very helpful and will sort out your problems.

I opted for this course at it provided me with the most career options, also backing it has IEM's stellar placement records. You are very likely to get placed in a good enough job because of their outstanding tie-ups with most major MNCs. The admission process is very easy here. You can get in based on your JEE-MAINS rank which is also very lenient or you can sit for their entrance exams which is also very easy. So getting in isn't very hard.

The faculty in this college is quite young as is the age of the college, but they are very helpful but some might not be as lenient as others, some might be there only to make your life worse. Most of the teachers have a Masters degree and some of them are even from prestigious institutions.
