In terms of outlook and objectives, the HRM and BM programs offered by XLRI Jamshedpur differ significantly. The BM program, for example, includes only two courses in Organization Behavior, whereas the HRM program includes three courses in the same subject.

The HRM program is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary to become a successful HR manager in today's fast-paced corporate environment. As a result, if you want to work in human resources, the HRM program is the best option. XLRI Jamshedpur is regarded as the best HR education institute in India, and being a part of the program gives you access to a rich alumni network of over 60 years, many of whom are in HR roles. This is a significant benefit. Similarly, the BM program has advantages, but the program's objectives differ from those of HRM. If you are admitted, you should not consider any other options.

Which companies hire HRM people from XLRI? Is it true that HR professionals have less workload and their job is a bit relaxed than other roles?

Any professional who is from HR understands exactly what a business requires and manages the whole process from hiring an employee to their exit with talent management & development, compliance, engagement, etc.

Setting up organizational design and development for organizations are also covered by HR professionals. The employees are just a small aspect of the bigger picture.

  • My friend worked at the corporate compensation team and he used to simply work on his PC all the time. Getting into HR was because of the simple fact that he was good with numbers.
  • MBA programs that offer specialization in HRM, such as XLRI PGDHRM cover all the topics mentioned above in their course work. This is why people for HR roles are taken from XLRI.
  • According to the recent statistics, the major companies coming to the campus for recruiting HR students are McKinsey, BCG, Bain, etc.

Traveling isn't vital for HR professionals unlike what a consultant or salesman would do, the workload is, however, very similar. At the end of the day, that aspect falls on the employer culture rather than the department itself.
