How do I prepare for the IIM Indore IPM Aptitude test and personal interview? What books should I refer to prepare for IPM-AT? What is the syllabus for the Aptitude Test?

HN

Frankly, the preparation tips for the IIM Indore IPM Aptitude test and personal interview are best understood from a student who's been through the process recently, not a coaching instructor or institute.

The aptitude test to interview score ratio is 60:40. The study material for the course can't really help you much. Sharpen your math skills if they are lacking. It's a must because quant is a stress if your math skills aren't up to par. The computer provides you with a calculator, but it can only perform basic addition and subtraction. If you are proficient in English, verbal is simple. No point in opening the dictionary to figure out new words or trying to mug them up. Read the papers and any classic literature you can get your hands on. The rest would probably work out. The majority of the reading was at the CBSE level. Your reading speed is the only potential stumbling block. Reading newspapers will also help you if you are chosen for the interview. The term "electronic commerce" refers to the sale of electronic goods. Also, the break between the test and interview is a good time to brush up on your class 12 syllabus.

The one thing to remember is to never lie. They'll see right through you, and trouble may be on the way. Presentation is essential. Don't be scared to ask for a little time to ponder upon a question, but don't be overconfident.

The key is self-assurance. After all, the panelists and the test are only attempting to assess the breadth of your knowledge, your self-awareness, and the goals you wish to achieve. Don't compare yourself with others or think of the multitude of kids trying their luck too. You will succeed there if you are aware that IIM IPM is where your heart truly lies.

Which among IIIT jabalpur CSE, NIT Jamshedpur ECE, Kurukshetra ECE, NIT Raipur CSE, NIT Hamirpur ECE, NIT Jalandhar CSE colleges is best ?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : September 4th, 2023
lives in New Delhi

The choice of the branch is more important than choosing the institute because it determines and shapes your career. If you are interested in working in a PSU or have an interest in Electronics, choose ECE but if you have no such inclinations choose CS, the most diverse field. There are two main differences between IIITs and NITs

  • IIITs are relatively new and may not have a very extensive alumni network while NITs are aged old and have an elaborate network.
  • NITs provide diverse specialization in various fields while IIITs only focus on Computer Science education.

Based on the placement scenario and the academics, here is the preference order I would suggest you follow while making your choice

NIT Jalandhar CSE>IIIT Jabalpur CSE>NIT Raipur CSE>NIT Kurukshetra ECE>NIT Hamirpur ECE> NIT Jamshedpur ECE

It's important to note that this preference order is not based on any official data and is based on my own opinion only.

How do I get a package of 30 lakhs in the field of marketing, post MBA from IIMA/B/C, FMS, MDI, SPJIMR, and IIFT?

SS
Saransh Shah Posted On : March 6th, 2023
MBA Finance, S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (2020)

While many may shed their philosophies on how getting a high package should not be your ultimate goal and stuff, I am here with a different opinion. When you are investing a huge amount of money it is only right to expect a greater monetary benefit and a better lifestyle. So I have mentioned some techniques that will help you land a package of 30 LPA specifically in the field of marketing post-MBA from IIM ABC, FMS, MDI, SPJIMR, and IIFT.

  • The first thing you need to do is lower your expectations as no marketing placements offer a package higher than 25 LPA. These highest offers are made by top firms like Reckitt Benckiser, HUL, P&G, and Asian Paints.
  • You need to figure out what you really are after, a good marketing role or a high-paying job. If you are after the latter I suggest you go for big consulting firms like Mc Kinsey, BCG, or investment banks that offer 30+ LPA.
  • But if it is the marketing role you are after, then make sure your resume reflects your marketing enthusiasm. This will further increase your chances of selection.
  • Performing well in the competitions conducted by your desired company is another way to get a high-paying job.
  • If the Final Placements are your last resort then make sure you have a stable and excellent CGPA. Many companies consider this factor while shortlisting.

These points will help you get your dream job but cannot necessarily guarantee it. It all ultimately depends on your efforts and obviously your luck.

What is the difference between the syllabus of the BITSAT and the JEE?

AG
Arshi Gupat Posted On : June 29th, 2022
B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT KGP)

Students preparing for BITSAT, need to study for two more sections, i.e. English and Logical Reasoning. Other than this, there is no such major difference between BITSAT and JEE syllabus.

If you are preparing for JEE Mains, the PCM section of BITSAT will be easier for you. You need to have good speed to score well in BITSAT.

Which programming languages are taught at IIT Bombay in the computer science branch? Is it difficult to learn?

PG
Pratik Gandhi Posted On : March 20th, 2023
B.Tech. CSE, IIT Bombay

Some programming languages taught at IIT Bombay year-wise are

  • First year: One institute course on programming, in C++, simple assignments concerning file I/O, etc. One course on functional programming, in Scheme, assignments heavily based on recursion, tail-recursion, etc.
  • Second year: Data structures course, in C++, assignments based on data structures of course, like a heap, binary search tree, linked list, etc.
  • Third year: Operating systems, mainly C++, assignments related to Linux systems. Artificial intelligence.
  • Fourth year: There aren’t any compulsory courses left and you can choose one based on your preference.

Basically, you'll be taught C++ and maybe one functional programming language. Most of the courses are not exactly about programming but do have some programming assignments that will also be in C++.

What should be preference order of IMT Ghaziabad courses- PGDM, PGDM marketing, PGDM finance, PGDM DCP, PGDM banking, insurance and financial services?

DC
Dhruv Chatterjee Posted On : January 25th, 2023
PGDM from Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad (Graduated 2022)

IMT Ghaziabad offers a variety of courses that cater to various specializations. These courses have been listed and explained in their order of preference

  • PGDM Marketing/PGDM Full Time (Marketing): This is the most coveted program among IMT students mainly because today its alumni have acquired top positions in big firms. Other major reasons include top-notch faculty, great internship and placement opportunities in terms of role and CTC, IMT’s eligibility, and excellent performances in recognized marketing and strategy B Schools competitions.
  • PGDM Finance/PGDM Full Time (Finance): This one is most suitable for aspirants who are interested in Finance. However, this program offers lesser opportunities than the Marketing program in terms of role and CTC.
  • PGDM Full Time (Operations): This program offers opportunities similar to that of Finance. But the batch size of PGDM Operations is smaller than PGDM Finance, so it may be easier to secure an internship/final placement, but the opportunities come less compared to Finance.
  • PGDM DCP: DCP or the Dual Country Program is for those who are keen to get international exposure. Compared to an MBA from a foreign university, this program is cheaper and yet offers an opportunity to explore a different culture and learn to make decisions in an international context. This is best suitable for those who are in the Marketing domain.
  • PGDM Banking and Financial Services (PGDM-BFS): This program was launched in 2019 and is relatively newer. It targets the core Banking and Finance sector. While the MBA program aims to provide a holistic view of management, this program solely focuses on Banking and Finance.
  • PGDM Full Time (HR): This is the least taken course and offers very less in terms of opportunities.

The courses have been arranged preference-wise so will make it easy for you to choose one.
