changing subjects in DU SOL (School of Open Learning):

subject change at SOL is possible but has conditions:

  • Subject change window: SOL typically allows subject changes in the first few weeks of admission (usually 15-30 days after enrollment). after this window closes, changes are very difficult
  • How to apply: visit your SOL study center or the SOL main office in Delhi ? fill subject change form ? pay any applicable fee
  • Restrictions: changes must be within available combinations for your program. you can't switch to any random combination — must be an allowed combination per SOL rules
  • After the change window: generally not allowed except in exceptional circumstances with prior permission

visit sol.du.ac.in for the latest subject change guidelines and dates. contact your SOL regional center or the main SOL office at North Campus for in-person assistance. act quickly if you want to change — the window closes fast after admission.

Changing your subject at SOL (School of Open Learning, Delhi University) — this is possible but has specific rules and timing.

Direct answer: Yes, subject change at SOL DU is possible, but only at specific windows.

When you can change:

  • At the time of initial admission: If you've just applied, you can change during the admission correction window (typically 2-3 weeks after initial allotment).
  • After completion of 1st year: Some subject changes are permitted when re-registering for 2nd year, if the subject combination is permitted in your course structure.
  • Within the Annual Correction Window: SOL usually allows corrections/changes in September-October for annual system students.

Important limitations:

  • You CANNOT change your main program (e.g., from B.A. Hindi to B.A. English) mid-way. Program-level changes require fresh admission.
  • For elective subject changes (subsidiary/compulsory language): More flexibility, but depends on availability of seats in the target subject.
  • All changes must be within subjects offered under the same program at SOL.

Process: Log in to sol.du.ac.in ? Student Services ? Correction/Change Request. Physical visit to SOL campus (Vikas Marg, Delhi) may also be required for formal application submission.

Check the current academic calendar on sol.du.ac.in for exact dates — windows open and close annually.

Yes, you can change your subject in SOL(DU). Here's the step-by-step process to help you:

STEP 1: First, you need to visit the SOL office to change your subject. If you're wondering where it is, it is located at 5 Cavalry Lines, University of Delhi, New Delhi, Delhi 110007. The nearest metro station is Vishwavidyalya. You can either take an auto or walk.

STEP 2: When visiting the office, make sure to bring your ID card and fee receipt. You'll need to show them at the entrance.

STEP 3: Go to room number 10 and inform the teacher about your request that you want to change your subject. Fill out the form and submit the photocopies of the following documents:

  • ID card
  • 12th marksheet
  • 10th marksheet
  • Fees receipt
  • Application form

STEP 4: An application fee of INR 100 will be charged to process the same. Make sure to keep the receipt as it will have your new SOL roll number on it.

STEP 5: And that's it! You've successfully changed your subject in SOL.

Hope this helps. Good luck

You can change your subject in SOL DU. As for first-year students, it is better if you visit before the beginning of October. You might be wondering if you would be required to pay any additional charges but that is not the case. It is all free of cost.

Visit the SOL DU office and get your ID Card and Fees Receipt checked by the administration. You can then ask the respective authorities about your issue. Fill in the required application form and submit it with the following list of documents:

  • ID Card
  • 12th Marksheet
  • 10th Marksheet
  • Fees Receipt

Once your application form is accepted, you need to pay an application fee of INR 100 (depends) on your subject. You will be then handed out a receipt with your fresh SOL roll number.
