DU SOL: 3 Answered Questions

I want to take admission in DU SOL MCom this year in 2025. Do they provide books and study material on time? When are there classes held and what are their timings?

RadiantRabbit

Honestly, students at DU SOL often receive their study materials a bit late, typically around 3-4 months before their semester exams. You can choose between getting the books in a digital format or as a physical copy. If you want hard copies, you will need to pay extra during your admission process. Digital copies are available without any extra cost.

Classes are mostly held on Sundays, and the schedule for these classes is shared when the PCP classes are organized. It's a good idea to focus on self-study rather than relying solely on the PCP classes. DU SOL is a great choice if you're looking to manage your time well, especially if you're balancing another course, exam preparation, or a job.

Can I get admission into SOL DU from a Regular DU in my 2nd year?

Vijay SrivastavaStudied at School of Open Learning,University of Delhi, graduated in 2020

Unfortunately no, there is no provision for transfer from SOL to a regular college at University of Delhi. It is so because SOL is an institution in itself, like any other college.

You can try to migrate into some other college but you will not be granted admission if your scores in SOL exams are not very high.

The students of SOL are often looked down upon when compared to regular colleges. Your marks will be scrutinized before you are allowed to migrate to the college. Most students are turned down because that would mean an increase in the workload.
