What is the current placement and package scenario in Jadavpur University for B.Tech courses?
Jadavpur University has managed to survive the recession to give its student a handsome placement package. My friend is currently studying there and their placement happens all around the years, unlike IITs where placement happens for two weeks or so.
Like most engineering colleges, CSE as usual tops the placement with their highest packages. The most popular recruiters include Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, Goldman Sachs, etc.
Almost 100% of students are placed in all the branches. Here are some branch-wise placement statistics for the year 2020.

Another good thing at Jadavpur University is that most of the big IT/ Analytics firms do not discriminate between the branches and allow them to sit for their placements. This way, you can grab a job in any field that you would like if you develop an interest in it in your college tenure.
What makes it possible for BITS Pilani CSE students to fetch an average annual placement package of 27.07 LPA, the highest in India for any undergraduate CS course?
BITS Pilani was able to fetch the highest average in India for any UG CS course owing to the numerous international offers that it received. I don’t consider including the international offers after converting them into Indian offers and then calculating the average as things like stocks and bonuses for subsequent years are overlooked. Thus, the resultant average is inflated and misleading. No doubt BITS is a great institute but being a private one it certainly publishes exaggerated ads and misleading figures to attract the crowd.
BITS Placement Unit is infamous for its actions and bias so the inflated figures also served the purpose of silencing the ones that criticized the unit.
The only solution to this problem is for colleges to come together and decide on a common declaration format for job offers. The Indian and international offers should be normalized according to purchasing power parity, and stocks made available after 3 years of working should not be considered part of a person's salary 'package'.
Is NMIMS a good college for an MBA?
Yes, NMIMS is considered to be the MBA college in Mumbai city and its MBA program is highly regarded among aspirants. Here are a few pros and cons of the institute that might help you
Pros
- The college is well-known for its state-of-the-art infrastructure. The classrooms have all modern facilities and the library too is well-stocked.
- Its location gives it leverage in establishing healthy industrial relations.
- The parity of the faculty cannot be doubted as they deliver excellent lectures.
- The academics are much more than just bookish language as students are made to solve Case-based studies.
- The food served in the canteen is quite good.
- Students get the chance to participate in lots of competitions and earn well, or get PPI.
Cons :
- NMIMS fees are exorbitantly high. The first-year fee is INR 11.95 Lakhs. You also need to consider the expenses of living in Mumbai.
- Hostel faculties for only limited students
- A few faculties have no interest in teaching.
- The placement stats are inflated and thus misleading.
- The MBA batch of NMIMS has a huge batch of around 600 students affecting the quality of education.
- There is a huge gap between the administration and the students.
- Easy entrance exam affects the quality of the crowd.
So, NMIMS was once a great B School but the increasing batch size has affected its reputation largely. You can go for colleges with a smaller batch size and similar fees to get better job opportunities.
How does IGNOU issue degree mark sheets?
IGNOU does not provide semester or year-end grade reports. It will provide you with a consolidated mark sheet at the end of your program. However, if you want a mark sheet halfway through, you must apply it separately. You will be charged a nominal fee and will receive IGNOU marksheet for all of the papers you have already examined, as well as the results.
The university gives you the option of coming to the convocation ceremony to get your degree certificate or sending an Rs. 200 demand draft as they post the degree.

BITS Pilani CSE average package over the past few years has been around INR 17-18 LPA.
I completed my BBA two years back and now I have 2 years of work experience. I did a distant PGDM from NMIMS. If I clear the CAT this year, should I go for a regular MBA?
Since you already have a work experience of 2 years you should go for an executive program from a reputed institute rather than doing any regular program.
- You should never hold your career because of continuing with a regular MBA program rather than you should choose an executive program.
- For the executive program, you can choose a 1-year global MBA degree in collaboration with 3 B schools.
- They are Cardiff School of Management, UK, IIM-Indore, and Universal Business School, Mumbai.
- In this program, you will be able to learn from these big institutions, especially IIM’s.
- You will also be getting good global exposure.
- The curriculum of the college will be the British curriculum and all these programs will develop your skills and will help you in your career development.
The executive program of IBS Hyderabad is also very good. There are several other institutes offering executive MBA programs where you can research and choose the best option.
How is the NMIMS distance learning program in MBA??
NMIMS Global MBA program is better than other distance MBA programs available. The course is designed as per the requirements of working professionals. Students get the required support from the university and the centers.

Is it worth doing a post graduate diploma degree in data analytics from IIIT Bangalore?
As a student of PG Diploma in Data Analytics at IIIT Bangalore, here is my honest opinion of this course-
The admission counselors will hide necessary information from you, and lure you into spending Lakhs. After payment of the fee, they won’t receive any inquiry calls from you.
The course content isn’t worth the high fee. There are better and far cheaper courses available on Jigsaw/ Datacamp. The pace is very hectic as well. Assignments are very burdensome, especially for working professionals. This course is not professional friendly, unlike what the admission counselors will tell you.
Getting a diploma certificate is next to impossible upon failing in more than one subject. You’ll be taught way less, and burdened way more. The difficulty level of exams is very high. There’s a lot of strictness regarding assignment submissions. Late submissions aren’t excused at all. Plagiarism results in direct course termination. Placements aren’t guaranteed.
Considering all this, I won’t recommend you join this course at IIIT Bangalore.
