MGU CAP 2026 Registration Begins

Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), Kottayam has opened the Centralised Allotment Process (CAP) 2026 registration. Applications are now live on the official portal at cap.mgu.ac.in.

The university has set different registration dates for each course category. Candidates must apply through the correct portal for their chosen programme. MGU is re-accredited by NAAC with an A++ grade.

MGU CAP 2026 Course Categories

The CAP 2026 covers five separate admission streams. Each stream has its own application link on the portal. Students must select the right category before applying.

  • UGP (Honours) CAP 2026 for undergraduate degree programmes
  • PG CAP 2026 for postgraduate programmes
  • B.Ed CAP 2026 for Bachelor of Education courses
  • M.Ed CAP 2026 for Master of Education courses
  • Fine Arts and Music CAP 2026 for creative arts programmes

Who Is Eligible to Apply?

UGP applicants must have passed Plus Two from a recognised board. Admission to UG and PG courses in affiliated colleges runs through CAP.

Only Keralite candidates qualify for mandatory quota and reservation benefits. Other applicants can still apply under general merit.

How to Register for MGU CAP 2026?

Registration is fully online through the official portal. Candidates should follow the steps below carefully.

  1. Create an account using a valid mobile number and email address.
  2. Fill the application with personal and academic details.
  3. Add up to 20 programme preferences in order of choice.
  4. Pay the application fee through the online payment option.
  5. Upload the required supporting documents.
  6. Print the confirmation page for your records.

Only one account is allowed per mobile and email combination. Hardcopies should not be mailed to the university.

Worth Noting

Details entered during registration cannot be corrected later. Enter your Plus Two register number, Aadhaar number, email and mobile number carefully. A single error can affect your allotment.

Additional Quota Options

After submitting the merit application, candidates may apply for extra quota seats. These include Sports and Cultural Quota seats and PD Quota seats. Community Merit Quota seats apply only to aided colleges.
