SAEEE 2026 (Sathyabama All India Entrance Examination) is conducted by Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, for admission to B.Tech, B.E., B.Arch, and B.Des programmes at its NAAC A+ accredited campus. The exam ran in two phases — Phase I on May 2 and 3, 2026, and Phase II on June 27 and 28, 2026. The SAEEE 2026 Phase II result is now out and Phase II counselling is active from July 3 to 5, 2026.

  • Phase II Counselling: SAEEE 2026 Phase II counselling is underway from July 3 to 5, 2026. Candidates with a Phase II rank must register at saeee2026.sathyabama.ac.in and attend their allotted counselling slot — seats go to candidates who confirm and pay first within the same rank band.
  • Combined Counselling: A joint counselling round covering remaining seats is expected in the 2nd week of July 2026, open to all Phase I and Phase II rank holders. In 2025, this combined round began roughly 10 days after Phase II results.
  • Final Seat Allotment: Final seat allotment for SAEEE 2026 is expected by end of July 2026. Candidates who receive an allotment must pay the first-year admission fee within 5 to 7 days to lock the seat — missing this window forfeits the allotment to the next candidate.
  • SAEEE 2027 Planning: The Phase I registration for 2027 is expected to open around November 2026, following the same annual schedule. Phase I exam is typically held in the first week of May and Phase II in the last week of June.

What is SAEEE 2026?

SAEEE stands for Sathyabama All India Entrance Examination. Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology (SIST), a deemed-to-be university under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, conducts this exam every year for admission to undergraduate engineering, architecture, and design programmes at its main campus in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The university was established in 1987 and holds NAAC A+ accreditation and NIRF 2025 rankings of 53rd in the University category and 67th in Engineering.

SAEEE is a university-level exam — it gives admission only to programmes at Sathyabama’s own Chennai campus. Despite being a single-university test, SAEEE attracts candidates from across India because of Sathyabama’s industry-connected programmes, strong placement record (91.87% placement rate with a highest package of Rs. 41.20 LPA in 2025), and competitive fee structure compared to other private deemed universities.

The exam is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) with 60 multiple-choice questions, 60 marks, and a 60-minute window. There is no negative marking — a wrong answer and a blank answer both score 0, so you should always attempt all questions. The syllabus is at Class 11 and 12 NCERT level, which makes it more accessible than JEE Main while still requiring systematic preparation.

SAEEE 2026 was held in two phases:

  • Phase I: May 2 and 3, 2026. Registration ran from November 27, 2025 to April 25, 2026. The Phase I rank list was declared on May 8, 2026 — just 5 days after the exam.
  • Phase II: June 27 and 28, 2026. Registration ran from April 26, 2026 to June 20, 2026. The Phase II result has been released in early July 2026.

Separate rank lists are generated for each phase, but both phases compete for the same seat pool during counselling. A candidate who appeared in both phases has their better rank used for allotment.

SAEEE 2026 Result and Rank List

SAEEE 2026 has two separate result declarations — one per phase. The Phase I rank list came out 5 days after the exam, which is Sathyabama’s typical turnaround. The Phase II rank list is now out as of early July 2026, enabling the Phase II counselling that is currently active.

Phase-wise Result Status

Phase Exam Dates Result Date Status
Phase I May 2 and 3, 2026 May 8, 2026 (Out)
Phase II June 27 and 28, 2026 Early July 2026 (Out)

How to Check SAEEE 2026 Result

  1. Go to saeee2026.sathyabama.ac.in
  2. Click "Result" or "Rank Card" on the homepage
  3. Enter your Application Number and Date of Birth
  4. Your rank card appears on screen — download and save it as a PDF
  5. Print a copy to carry to the counselling session

What the SAEEE 2026 Rank Card Shows

  • Candidate’s name, application number, and hall ticket number
  • Subject-wise scores: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology
  • Total score out of 60
  • SAEEE 2026 All India Rank (phase-specific)
  • Category rank, if applicable

The rank depends entirely on marks scored. Where two candidates have identical totals, Sathyabama applies tie-breaking criteria — typically comparing marks in a specific subject, or using date of birth — to assign distinct ranks. If you appeared in both Phase I and Phase II, the system automatically uses your better rank for allotment purposes during the combined counselling round.

Keep your rank card printed and ready before attending the Phase II counselling or the combined counselling round. The portal may slow down closer to counselling deadlines — download your rank card now, not on the day.

SAEEE 2026 Marks vs Rank Analysis

SAEEE is a 60-mark exam with a narrow score range, which means the rank sensitivity per mark is much higher than in a national exam. In JEE Main (300 marks), dropping 2 marks might cost you a few hundred ranks. In SAEEE, dropping 2 marks from 50 to 48 can shift your rank by 1,500 to 2,000 places — because thousands of candidates cluster in a tight 2-3 mark band. This is why even one extra correct answer in SAEEE matters significantly.

The table below gives estimated marks vs rank correlation for SAEEE 2026. Official data will be released after all counselling rounds end.

Marks (out of 60) Expected Rank Range Likely Branch Options
57 — 60 1 — 300 All branches; first pick of CSE-AI, CSE-DS
52 — 56 301 — 1,500 All CSE specializations, ECE, IT
47 — 51 1,501 — 3,500 CSE, ECE, IT
42 — 46 3,501 — 6,000 ECE, EEE, Aeronautical, Mechatronics
36 — 41 6,001 — 10,000 Mechanical, EEE, Aeronautical
30 — 35 10,001 — 16,000 Civil, Chemical, Automobile
25 — 29 16,001 — 22,000 Biomedical, Biotechnology, Civil
Below 25 22,000+ Limited options — check seat availability at counselling

These are estimated ranges based on 2024-25 trends. Official SAEEE 2026 marks vs rank data will be published after all counselling rounds conclude in July 2026.

SAEEE 2026 Cutoff

The SAEEE 2026 cutoff is the last rank at which a seat was filled in a branch during counselling. It is not a pre-declared threshold — it emerges from the actual counselling process, once every seat is filled. Official 2026 branch-wise closing ranks will be published after all rounds end in July 2026.

Factors That Determine the SAEEE Cutoff

  • Seat count per branch: Branches with fewer seats and equal or higher demand have a tighter closing rank (smaller rank number). Adding one or two specialization sections within CSE, for instance, spreads the same demand across more seats, which can slightly relax each specialization’s cutoff.
  • Total candidates across both phases: More candidates means more competition for the same seats, which drives closing ranks lower (tighter).
  • Paper difficulty: A harder paper pushes scores down uniformly. When everyone scores lower, the closing-rank score also drops — but the rank threshold stays roughly similar since the rank order is preserved.
  • Candidate preference patterns: CSE and its AI and Data Science specializations attract the most preferences year after year, keeping their closing ranks consistently among the tightest.

Expected SAEEE 2026 Branch-wise Closing Ranks (Based on 2024-25 Trends)

Branch Expected Closing Rank (2026) Competition Level
CSE — Artificial Intelligence 1 — 2,000 Very High
CSE — Data Science 1 — 2,500 Very High
CSE — IoT and AI & Robotics 1 — 2,500 Very High
Computer Science Engineering (CSE) 1 — 3,500 High
Information Technology (IT) 3,500 — 6,000 High
Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) 3,000 — 7,000 High
Aeronautical Engineering 5,000 — 10,000 Moderate
Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) 5,000 — 10,000 Moderate
Mechanical Engineering 6,000 — 13,000 Moderate
Biomedical Engineering 8,000 — 15,000 Moderate
Biotechnology and Bioinformatics 10,000 — 18,000 Low to Moderate
Civil Engineering 10,000 — 20,000+ Lower
Chemical and Automobile Engineering 12,000 — 22,000+ Lower

All figures are estimates based on 2025 trends. Official SAEEE 2026 closing ranks will be published on saeee2026.sathyabama.ac.in after the final counselling round concludes.

Official 2026 branch-wise closing ranks will be released only after all counselling rounds are complete. Do not make admission decisions based on estimated cutoffs alone — check the official closing rank data when it is published.

SAEEE 2026 Counselling Process

Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology conducts SAEEE counselling directly — there is no central counselling authority involved. In 2026, counselling runs in two stages: Phase II counselling (July 3-5, 2026, currently active) and a combined final round for all remaining seats (expected 2nd week of July 2026).

Phase II counselling is active right now until July 5, 2026. Register on saeee2026.sathyabama.ac.in today if you have not already done so — every day’s delay reduces your chances of getting your preferred branch since seats fill up from the top of the rank list.

SAEEE 2026 Counselling Schedule

Round Eligible Candidates Dates Status
Phase I Counselling Phase I rank holders June 2026 (Over)
Phase II Counselling Phase II rank holders July 3 to 5, 2026 (Active)
Combined Final Counselling Phase I + Phase II rank holders (remaining seats) 2nd week of July 2026 (Expected) Upcoming

Step-by-Step Counselling Process

  • Step 1 — Counselling Registration: Log in to saeee2026.sathyabama.ac.in with your application number and date of birth. Register for counselling by confirming your rank card details and eligibility.
  • Step 2 — Fill Programme Preferences: List your preferred branches in order of priority. You can fill multiple choices. Your top preference is given first consideration, then the next if the first is unavailable at your rank.
  • Step 3 — Slot Allotment: A counselling date and time is assigned based on your rank. Candidates with better ranks (lower rank numbers) get earlier slots, which means more branches are still open when it is their turn.
  • Step 4 — Seat Confirmation: At your slot, the system matches your rank against your preference list and available seats and allots a branch accordingly.
  • Step 5 — Document Verification: Submit your original documents for verification — either in person at the Sathyabama campus in Chennai or through the online portal, depending on the announced procedure.
  • Step 6 — Admission Fee Payment: Pay the first-year admission fee to lock your seat. Within the same counselling slot, seats go to candidates who complete payment first. Delay risks losing your allotted seat.
  • Step 7 — Allotment Letter: Receive your official admission letter confirming your programme, branch, academic year, and campus reporting date.

Documents Required at SAEEE 2026 Counselling

  • SAEEE 2026 rank card (printed)
  • Class 10 mark sheet and passing certificate — originals plus 2 photocopies each
  • Class 12 mark sheet or provisional certificate — originals plus 2 photocopies
  • Transfer certificate or School Leaving Certificate from last institution
  • Character certificate
  • 6 recent passport-size photographs
  • Aadhaar card (original)
  • Category certificate — OBC (non-creamy layer), SC, or ST — from a competent authority (if applicable)
  • Date of birth proof if not reflected on Class 10 certificate

Missing even one document on counselling day typically leads to immediate disqualification from that slot. Sathyabama does not grant additional time on the same day. Prepare your complete document folder at least 2 days before your counselling date and verify every item against the official checklist.

SAEEE 2026 Preparation Tips

Both phases of SAEEE 2026 are now over. The tips below are relevant for students planning for SAEEE 2027, and also give useful context for understanding what kind of preparation the exam demands so that current candidates can make informed decisions at counselling.

Start with NCERT — It Covers the Core

SAEEE questions come from Class 11 and 12 content at NCERT level. Students who read every NCERT chapter carefully — including solved examples and end-of-chapter exercises — cover the large majority of what SAEEE asks. A common mistake is jumping to coaching-level material before finishing NCERT basics, which leaves gaps in fundamental concepts that SAEEE regularly tests.

Train for One Minute Per Question

You have 60 minutes for 60 questions. In practice, some MCQs take 20 seconds and others take 2 minutes. The skill is knowing when to move on. Solve past papers and mock tests with a strict 60-minute timer. A good target is finishing a first pass of all 60 questions in about 50 minutes, leaving 10 minutes to revisit answers you flagged as uncertain.

Always Attempt All 60 Questions

There is no negative marking in SAEEE. A blank answer and a wrong answer both score 0 — the penalty is identical. This means guessing is never worse than skipping. If you are stuck on a question, use the elimination method: rule out the two most obviously wrong options and guess from the remaining two. A 50% guess beats a guaranteed 0 every time.

Start with Your Strongest Subject

Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics each carry exactly 20 marks. There is no reason to follow any fixed section order. Start with your strongest subject to secure marks quickly and build your confidence. If time runs out, it runs out during your weakest section — which is where you would score the lowest anyway. Managing order strategically is one of the few variables you control on exam day.

Physics: Formula Recall Is the Key Skill

Most SAEEE Physics questions test formula application rather than deep derivation. Build a one-page formula sheet covering kinematics, Newton’s laws, electrostatics, current electricity, optics, and modern physics. Revise this sheet every morning in the three weeks before the exam. The goal is instant recall — you should not spend time deriving any formula during the exam itself.

Chemistry: Give Inorganic the Same Attention as Organic

Many students spend most of their Chemistry preparation on Organic reactions and arrive at SAEEE underprepared for Inorganic. In SAEEE, all three parts — Physical, Inorganic, and Organic — contribute to the 20-question section. p-Block elements, coordination compounds, and electrochemistry are common high-yield inorganic areas. Neglecting them is one of the most common reasons Chemistry scores fall below expectation.

Mathematics: Calculus and Coordinate Geometry Are High-Value

Calculus (differentiation, integration, differential equations) and Coordinate Geometry (straight lines, circles, conic sections) appear most frequently in SAEEE Mathematics. Solve at least 50 problems from each of these areas before the exam. Algebra topics — matrices, quadratic equations, binomial theorem, and permutations — also appear regularly and are generally faster to answer once you know the patterns.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on SAEEE 2026

Ques. What is SAEEE?

Ans. SAEEE stands for Sathyabama All India Entrance Examination. Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai — a NAAC A+ accredited deemed university — conducts it every year for admission to B.Tech, B.E., B.Arch, and B.Des programmes. The exam is a 60-question, 60-mark, 60-minute Computer-Based Test with no negative marking. It covers Class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology at NCERT level.

Ques. How many phases does SAEEE 2026 have?

Ans. SAEEE 2026 has two phases. Phase I was held on May 2 and 3, 2026, and Phase II was held on June 27 and 28, 2026. Both phases follow the same pattern and syllabus. Candidates who appeared in both phases have their better rank used for allotment in the combined counselling round.

Ques. Is the SAEEE 2026 Phase II result out?

Ans. Yes, the SAEEE 2026 Phase II result has been released in early July 2026. You can check your score and download your rank card by logging in to saeee2026.sathyabama.ac.in with your application number and date of birth. Download and print your rank card immediately — you need it for Phase II counselling, which is active until July 5, 2026.

Ques. Is there negative marking in SAEEE 2026?

Ans. No, SAEEE 2026 has no negative marking. You get +1 for each correct answer. A wrong answer and a blank answer both get 0 — the penalty is the same either way. This means you should always attempt all 60 questions. Guessing gives you a chance of earning a mark; leaving a question blank guarantees you get nothing.

Ques. What is the SAEEE 2026 eligibility criteria?

Ans. You must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 with at least 60% aggregate marks. Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are compulsory for most B.Tech, B.E., B.Arch, and B.Des programmes. For Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, and Biomedical Engineering, Biology is accepted instead of Mathematics. You must also be born on or after January 1, 2006. Candidates with any arrear in Class 12 are not eligible.

Ques. What is the SAEEE 2026 application fee?

Ans. The SAEEE 2026 application fee is Rs. 1,000 plus applicable bank charges. The fee is the same for all categories — General, OBC, SC, and ST. Payment can be made via net banking, credit card, debit card, UPI, or Indian Bank challan. The fee is non-refundable under all circumstances, including if you do not appear for the exam.

Ques. When is SAEEE 2026 Phase II counselling?

Ans. SAEEE 2026 Phase II counselling is from July 3 to 5, 2026 and is currently active. A combined counselling round covering remaining seats for both Phase I and Phase II rank holders is expected in the 2nd week of July 2026. Ques. How many marks do I need to get CSE in SAEEE 2026?

Ans. Based on 2024-25 trends, you typically need 47 or more marks out of 60 to get core CSE at Sathyabama. For CSE specializations in Artificial Intelligence or Data Science — which fill faster — the expected threshold is around 52 or more marks. The actual 2026 closing ranks for each CSE branch will be confirmed only after all counselling rounds end in July 2026.

Ques. Can I appear in both Phase I and Phase II of SAEEE?

Ans. Yes. You can register and appear in both phases of SAEEE by applying separately for each. Your better rank from either phase is automatically considered for the combined merit list and counselling. Appearing in both phases is the best strategy if you want to improve your chances of a higher rank — Phase II gives you a second attempt after seeing how Phase I went.
