IISER Mohali has a total of 5 hostels, including 4 for students and 1 visitor hostel known as the Dollar Building. Each student hostel is an 8-floor co-ed facility with combined accommodations for boys and girls, featuring shared mess and canteen services. Rooms are initially shared between two students for the first two years, after which individual rooms are allocated. Bathrooms, not attached in main hostels, are cleaned daily and shared among 5-6 people per set.

Basic amenities include a study table, chairs, beds, fans, and a balcony in each room, with a rental fee of Rs. 2000 per semester. The hostels, equipped with lifts and Wi-Fi, maintain cleanliness and provide 24/7 hot water. It is mandatory for all BS-MS students to reside in the hostels, which also house a health center and various recreational facilities. The food quality in the mess is managed by a student-run system, ensuring decent quality.

PhD students typically receive single rooms from the outset. Overall, the hostel infrastructure is well maintained, offering essential facilities to support a comfortable living environment for students.
