NIFT Chennai Gallery

Nift campus has strong emphasis on both academic and extracurricular activities. We have a lot of cclubs in nift like literature club, drama club and all. Students often form lifelong friendships and creates lasting memories.

Nift is very special with vibrant events and festivals functions they celebrate with dance and very engagement the campus students are so friendly and nice persons there are 4 club in the college they always encourage the handcrafted peoples , inviting them to showcase the work they did or arranging a workshop to teach like this will held . Very famous festivals happen named spectrum . Each of the classroom have touch screen led tv and enough of internet There is an seperate club is for sports and activities and campus have specific playground, basketball court, volleyball, gym , table tennis , football, cricket .. called as multiactivity centre and also some campaign will happen and students willhas connect with the outside of the campus .

The college is great, festivals and events are celebrated nicely. Since the change is director there are high hopes for better social gatherings and events. The library or resource centre is slowly getting advanced there is new interface to help in getting books. There are 4 clubs and 3 act based societies being dance, music and theatre. There are language based groups but it depends on who you are comfortable interacting with.

The main cultural event at NIFT is "Spectrum" where apart from NIFT students, other students also come and participate. There are many different programmes accommodated in this 3 days fest and it's super fun. Apart from that, there are celebrations every now and then on different occasions. For books, we have a Resource Center where we can sit and work, read books, work on the available computers etc. We also have a Mac lab in a different building. There are different social clubs such as cultural club, literary club, sports club etc where we get to do extra activities.

The campus of NIFT is enormous in size with a big land for our practical works. Art rooms and class rooms for all the required courses are well set up. Specialised labs and workshops for Knit (Flat knitting, Circular knitting, Shima seiki etc.,)

Nift is known for its amazing campus life. Students come from different part of the country and are very diverse yet United. Nift has more female students than male. But it won't be a problem. Nift encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities like competition, sports, etc.

Gender ratio is 9:4 that is girls to boys. With female gender being dominant in the college. Parties and DJ nights are frequent in colllege, while the societies like sports, fashion, literary club, cultural club provide a lot of activities from time to time. The diversity is vast since the population ranges from South as well as North and west and east. The interaction between student increases due to the newness of the culture. No Religion or race issues since all are accepted equally. The diversity is the best part of NIFT Chennai.

Since NIFT is a fashion college the stereo type applies there aren't as many boys as there are girls. In short there I would say there would be 4 - 8 boys maximum in a class, making it almost 20% boys to 80% girls. The ethnicity of the college is quite diverse with people all over India in campus. There are very few localites and the most common language around campus is Hindi making most students from far off places feel at home. The student body and Cultural group come together and celebrate various festivals like Onam, Pongal (Sankranti and Lodhi), Navratri, Christmas and New Year.

Did not have much time for extra curricular activities we had a very busy schedule. Workshops were part of our curriculum our assignments were very interactive. And kept us occupied mostly student diversity were good almost students all over India were part of our institute gender ratios were also well maintained.

Though its a fashion college, people will think that there will be only girls, but Nift stands outside this box and we will have exactly 50% of both genders. Nift campus teaches you how to handle things in both positive and negative aspects a Niftian can manage any kind of situation. Nift is famous for its extracurricular activities. we have all kind of relaxations apart from our general work. Nift is a place where you can stay with people all over the India. You can see North Indian, South Indian, North East people even NRI students in our college there wont be any caste partition or racism in our college.
