  • Awards: CMFRI bags the “Rajarshi Tandon award” introduced by ICAR for the excellent official language activities for the year 2012-2013, CMFRI team won the best paper award for their research work “Distributional shift of pelagic Indian oil sardine and Indian mackerel towards northern Indian Ocean” on ECOCASD International Workshop held at Trivandrum October 2013 , and most of all CMFRI is the Outstanding ICAR Institution award Winner 2007.

  • Achievements:  CMFRI achieves success in breeding and seed production of another species of Indian Pompano, Trachinotous mookaleeat visakhapatnam 2014, CMFRI achieves Grouper breeding success- Epinephelus tauvina for the first time in India at Visakhapatnam, CMFRI ensures India joining top successful countries involved with pop up satellite tagging of Yellowfin Tunas etc.

  • Training: Many Training courses and programmes have been organized like “Microalgal culture and Water Quality management in Aquaculture system” at tuticorin research centre of CMFRI on 9-13 Dec 2013 and “Taxonomy and Identification of commercially important crustaceans of India” on Aug 2013 at CMFRI Cochin.
