JIT Borawan admissions are based on marks obtained in the relevant entrance examination. Candidates seeking admission to BTech must have passed the JEE Main exam. For Lateral Entry admission, Candidates must have passed the diploma or B.Sc. However, students can get admission through the management quota, based on their marks in the intermediate graduation. Diploma Admission is based on the Pre-Polytechnic Test, and for lateral entry, 10th + 2-year ITI with an appropriate specialization is required. The ME/MTech admissions are based on the rank obtained in GATE, and the MCA admission is based on graduation.

JIT Borawan provides hostel facilities for the students. There are three separate hostels equipped for junior boys, senior boys, and girls. These hostels are on its campus. Each hostel has modern facilities like a reading room, recreation room, TV room, indoor and outdoor games, with hygienic breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All the hostel buildings have 24/7 WiFi internet connectivity, a recreation hall, and a gym. The girls' hostel has special 24/7 security.
