IIITDM Kancheepuram offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and research-level programs. It offers a total of 25 courses across CSE, ECE, AI, Smart Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Design, and Humanities departments. Some of the UG and PG programs are B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Des. Integrated B.Tech + M.Tech programs are offered as well.

Admissions to UG and PG programs at IIITDM Kancheepuram are conducted through Entrance exams. To apply for the flagship B.Tech program, students require at least 75% in the 12th board exam with PCM as compulsory subjects. Eligible students can take admission to B.Tech programs based on their JEE Main All India Ranks, followed by seat allocation through JoSAA/CSAB/DASA Counseling rounds. IIITDM Kancheepuram B.Tech Admission 2026

At the undergraduate level, IIITDM Kancheepuram offers a B.Tech degree program with eight specializations of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Smart Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence, Design Engineering, and Engineering Physics. In the case of candidates with more than five years of relevant experience after the Master's degree, the requirement of a test score may be waived by the Selection Committee.
Foreign nationals should have a valid GRE/GMAT/GATE/NET/ICAT/JMET/TOEFL or an equivalent examination score in the relevant discipline to be eligible for admission.
For Mathematics, candidates must pass in Master’s degree in Mathematics/ Statistics/ Physics/ Computer Science or M.Tech or M.Tech with a Master’s degree in Mathematics/ Physics/ Statistics/ Computer Science.

I applied to NIT CALICUT NIT SURATKAL, NIT TRICHY. For my trial round i got nit suratkal for EEE. But i shifted it to down and kept iiitdmk up..I chose this as it was the only college with Smart Manufacturing. Course and i was intrested in the way the curriculum was set including Cs,ece,eee Nd mechanical.As my jee score was not great to enter cse courses in nit calicut i got rejected there. Admission procedures were pretty easy.Jee scores are important .only jee mains Cutoff vsluse increase and decrease every year.For cse course it is around 97 to 97 percentile

IIITDM Chennai, a brief review (post-covid improvements).

Admission:

Well, I got this college through CSAB. In JoSAA, I was disqualified for being late for fee payment in the first round itself. Then in CSAB, I did apply for other colleges, IIITs, NITs, GFTIs, etc. In the first round, I got NIT Srinagar in IT. But I waited for the next round and then I got IIITDM Chennai. In my early years, I used to cuss this college a lot. With the conditions at the post-covid time, no freshers, hardly any fests and discrimination, I used to hate my life. Then I talked to some of my friends in other colleges and then I realised that this college, although with a smaller campus of only 55 acres, is still trying its level best. A lot of reforms are seen in the past 2 years. Having 2 different caterers in the mess, freshers night, increasing budget of clubs and fests, it's like I have seen the college raise its standards. As for admission process, there is like a week or 10 days period for all the document verification work. After this, the students are alloted their time tables and they can daily go to classes. It's straight forward actually.

Admission:

I applied and got selected in RGIPT amethi for Btech in computer science and design, but i felt like IIITDM mechanical would be a better choice because I felt like the institutes speciality in the field of design and manufacturing would help me buid a career around my passion of cars and machanics in general. The clubs in IIITDM was also a reason why i chose it over RGIPT. To get into IIITDM, a student will have to clear JEE mains with a good rank and will have appl through counselling like JOSAA and CSAB for indian students while NRI's will have to apply through a special counselling called DASAA.

i came this college through my JEE marks. i have no other options to go other college through my JEE marks.because i need computer science departement. i think our college is best in sports when we compare with some other iiit. placement wise our college is somwhat is low with other colleges.

Admission:

I applied for CEG GUINDY through TNEA and got EEE course which only needs board exam cut off. But through JEE , I got IIITDM ECE DD course and I am satisfied with the choice I made. For those who want to joij my college , they need to give JEE exam mains attempt and through JOSAA or CSAB counselling they could get admission here .

Yes, if you belong to General or open category too, then also you can get admission to IIITDM Chennai with 96%ile as the cut-off for open category is 93%ile.
