The placement of the college was all good but the college only offers you placement if you not have any back in the examination. From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like Amazon, Wipro, TCS, Microsoft was visited here and these college offers more than 1000 of offers for the students. Highest package of year 2024 was around 54 LPA. Almost 70% of the students get placed. My plan after getting the degree is to work in the reputated company.

CGC Landran is a good institute and is marked with an excellent placement in branches like CSE and IT, a decent faculty, and good enough campus life. Here’s a brief highlight of CGC Landran, based on what I heard about the institute from my friends at the institute.

There are some excellent professors, some average and mostly good enough professors in the faculty of the institute. Most professors are very humble and help the students in educational, research, and other purposes too.
The campus of CGC Landran is large. There are separate blocks for every branch inside the campus. Grounds for Cricket, volleyball, football, basketball, badminton, etc, are also available inside the campus.
CGC Landran is one of the best colleges in terms of placement under PTU. Most MNCs visit the campus for placement. Students are offered jobs according to their own capabilities, and with a good average placement package. The highest package offered in CGC is also very good and is seen to increase with consecutive years.

CGC Landran and CGC Jhanjeri are the same and run by the same management. The faculties of the college are also the same. The placements for both campuses take place at the same time. The students sit together for their placements.

I have a few friends at both institutes and most of them recommend Chandigarh Engineering college Landran campus over Jhanjeri campus because this campus is the oldest, the environment is good, and it is located near to Mohali.

CGC Landran is better in terms of infrastructure and faculty members as well. The CSC department of this college is good. According to the recent placement highlights the average and highest CTC offered at the institutes is 7 LPA and 35 LPA.

Which is the best university for me: UPES, Chitkara or CGC Landran? What are their average packages?

Both Chitkara and CGC Landran are at the same level. As far as placements are concerned, both of them offer excellent placements with well-developed placement cells.

UPES is definitely more concentrated on petroleum and chemical engineering. It also has some unique courses and a really good reputation and you will get to learn a lot. Fees might be a little expensive though.

My advice to you would be to not choose electronics and communication engineering at either of them because placements are not that great and you don’t want to end up with CSE students and learn coding in the last few months of your college.

The placement scenario varies with the branch you opt for. CSE and IT branches have the best placement records so far. In general, Chandigarh’s group of colleges are known for its placements.

Around 200 companies visit the campus for recruitment purposes every year. CGC offers a TPP program in which you will be given special lectures on placements and techniques on how to prepare for them.

Apart from placement, CGC Landran has a picturesque campus, a large campus having different blocks for different branches. There is outdoor football, volleyball and badminton courts as well. Faculties are very helpful, there are some average ones among the best teaching lot.

There are numerous companies that come to visit CGC Landran around the time of campus placements.

Branch-wise, when you consider CSE and ECE, you will notice that more than 50 different companies visit the college. Some of the major and popular ones include Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Flipkart.
Keep in mind that these companies will offer really great packages but select a handful of lucky students only.
A few other companies like Wipro also visit the college that will recruit almost an entire batch of students looking for jobs, however, this is probably not something great as they focus on mass recruitment.
TCS and Wipro are the companies where a maximum number of students are placed. They offer decent packages.
You can expect to have a high package of INR 35 LPA and an average salary between INR 3 to 4 LPA.

From my knowledge, the packages for other streams are somewhat similar.

There are 2 types of IT companies, which are as follows.

Product-based - These are the companies that hire at pretty impressive packages i.e more than 10 LPA to name a few companies which visited the CGC campus in recent year were Amazon, HP, Google, etc.

Service-based - These are the companies (mass recruiters) that hire in bulk offering packages about 3–4 LPA.

Most of the students get jobs in service-based companies.
