National Power Training Institute Durgapur Faculty

The faculty are totally from outside and we'll experienced with there field. All the facilities are highly qualified and experienced from various government departments like BARC, POWER GRID,BHEL,KPTCL, HAL etc. And about the syllabus the syllabus is Fully practical based. So many industrial visit conducted during the course To get practical knowledge apart from theoretical knowledge

Faculty is not good in this college. Most of the faculty is the contract basis. They have not proper degree for technical student to be a teacher. Professor are busy most of the time. They don't have time to teach.

Faculties are very professional. Guest teachers who have experience in reputatated thermal plants also came for lecture. All classes in audio visual medium. There are advanced skilled teachers for teaching in the lab.

The faculties were not so good, barring a few,who were very knowledgeable and helpful to studnts. some of the faculties are Mr.anupam dey (electrical), dr.satarupa satpathy (chemistry), mr.panchanan Chatterjee (late) were some of the brilliant noteworthy teachers..other were just average or below average. I was not quite satisfied with the quality of faculty's.on a scale of 10, i would like to rate 5.

Some of the faculties are very qualified like PhD. They have good exposure of power plants. But the bad news is that they rarely take classes for B. Tech. students. They focus on PGDC students (one course conducted by NPTI). B. Tech students get lectures mostly from M. Tech Students of NIT Durgapur.

Faculty are best of their level they guide us and motivates us so that we can discover new ideas and do better in their field but student try to study own and get their job so you should not depend upon faculty but senior are best one they love to teach s
