OSMANIA MEDICAL COLLEGE

College is affiliated with many hospitals
Clinical exposure is very high as there are many hospitals
Teaching faculty is very good and faculty student relationship is very good

Dislikes

As there are many hospitals are affiliated which are far from college we have to travel by our own
Old mens hostel which is very bad but now new hostel is being constructed in that place
Main academic block has poor infrastructure

Course Curriculum Overview:

As per NMC Guidelines, CBME curriculum is followed.From the second year students have to attend clinical postings. Internals exams are for 100 marks (each subject) Pre final exams are also conducted at the end of the year before final exams

Main thing is patient load is good so you will learn more
Hands on opportunity for pgs to do lscs is high ,so we will become very good at lscs surgery

Dislikes

Work load is high so you need to sacrifice your sleep in duties .shift time to sleep will be less
Hospital is less hygienic,mainly basic investigation like CBP lft and RFT pt inr will be done at any time

Course Curriculum Overview:

My internship at osmania medical College made me understand that I will like obgy. Mbbs students will do 6 weeks of internship in obgy department. We will learn how to perform deliveries and do episiotomies and suture them. Pg in obgy from osmania will be good enough to face the real world but mainly we learn obstetrics. For gyneacology surgeries we have less exposure. We will get opportunity to assist in total abdominal hysterectomy in final year few times (around 2 to 3 times) Exam will be in final year and most of pgs will pass the exam

Faculty is very supportive and encouraging to study
Infrastructure is very good and we have all lab requirements
Clubs are many we can enjoy learn through those clubs

Dislikes

In classes some of the fans are not working
In classes some of the lights are not working
Food in the hostel is not at all nice ...

The curriculum in this college is very systematic They follow the timetable very nicely And the practicals we do in this college are important in our life As a doctor we need this type of curriculum for learning easily and systematically

For every fresher mbbs is right for balance life
The quality of the infrastructure is good
The faculty teaching methods are good

Dislikes

Sports should be encouraged more than now
Hostels should be changed can give single rooms
Hostel mess is bad we cannot eat it should be changed

Exams are hard we should study really hard to pass out there are totally three semesters in 2nd year i should pass in all the semesters to pass out from 2nd year it is very hard to study here complete dedication is important

Osmania Medical college has great history.
The college also has high clinical exposure.
The faculty is well experienced and very interactive

Dislikes

As the college is too old the infrastructure needs to be improved
The facilities in the campus can be upgraded
The equipment and the labs need to upgraded

Course Curriculum Overview:

Presently the curriculum we follow for MBBS is CBME. This CBME curriculum is a lot better and more interactive than the previous curriculum. This curriculum improves interaction between students and teachers. The duration of exams is 3 hours.

Osmania Medical College is a well-known and respected institution for studying medicine in India.
The college is affiliated with top hospitals in Hyderabad, which provides students with ample opportunities for clinical exposure.
The college has a strong network of alumni who are successful doctors and medical professionals

Dislikes

However it is a government college so dont come with too much expectations
Hostel facilities are not that great importantly for the first year students

I like the college history as it is a old building since nijams
Infrastructure was really amazing to see from outside...
Faculty was very supportive and helpful ..they guide in every aspect like studies and events ,etc

Dislikes

As there is no chance for placements in college.
Course which is very hectic ... It's forgettable within seconds
Campus Life is somewhat every student dislikes it

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course to serve the people, this was the profession where you can satisfy your inner soul. The faculties were very nice and supportive. They have completed their PhDs and are very well experienced. If you study from day 1, you will pass easily if you study at the last minute it's very difficult to pass.

Likes

Mostly the faculty are wonderful and clinical appearance is good.
There is good relationship between students along with faculty.
Playground area is so large along with various sports.

We have events where we can participate in competition nd enjoy we can relieve our stress
We can go to trips with friends nd teacher are friendly

Hectic schedule is present we have to travel to go to hospital for posting nd also classes till 5 pm so time management is very hectic
To study difficulty in remembering tough words strict proffers
We have practical plus theory exams hectic to manage

I have chosen the scores because it's a very precious one in the faculty of very good teaching a very clinical-based method we also have our clinical postings where will expose to the cases and exposed to the patients and we can learn physical either will have postings we go there and learn. We have three internals and one final exam and the exams were really tough we how to write final exams only after passing 3 internals we also have practical exams where we have to face viva which actually very difficult to pass we have to prepare a lot to clear all the exams 890. have to prepare a lot to them because they are new terminologies and very hard to remember so number of revisions is required for this and for a pass only we should get half of the marks in the total that is 50 marks out of hundred so actually it is very tough and final exams will write final exams after internals

Pros

The college has produced highly successful doctors who are currently working in top positions in reputed hospitals like the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio and AIIMS New Delhi.
Osmania has around 10 attached hospitals. So, the patient flow is huge and diverse. There is a hospital for every subject you study in the Final year.
OSMECON and College Fest are the 2 major events of this college that help students explore their interests apart from medicine.
Osmania has some very amazing professors. One such Physiology professor established the Electrophysiology lab, the first such lab in the entire state.
Internships in Osmania General Hospital are a very rare experience because if you can take care of patients in the most resource-scarce hospitals such as Osmania, you can help patients anywhere on the globe.

Cons

Osmania lacks funding to a great extent so is behind research work in comparison to other medical colleges.
The old building of Osmania General Hospital is in ruins.
No national and international conferences, seminars, or meetings are held to improve its global image.
The hostel facilities are pathetic and the mess food is not edible.
The campus area has been reduced due to Metro rail expansion.
