Why the Mangalore University Result Is Not Showing?

Three issues cause most missing results. Each one has a different fix.

  • Wrong portal: Non-NEP repeaters will not find results on UUCMS. They check the MU Varsity portal.
  • Result held back: The university held back some results for technical reasons in July 2026. The college principal raises these cases with the Registrar (Evaluation).
  • NCL status: A student who clears the last semester but not a lower one gets NCL. It means Not Completed the Lower Semester Examinations. The degree comes only after the pending papers are cleared.

Students report that UUCMS often slows down on result day. Trying again after a few hours usually works.

What the Mangalore University Grade Card Shows?

The university issues a grade card after every semester. It lists each course with its code, title, credits and grade.

Internal assessment marks appear separately from the semester end exam marks. The card also shows the SGPA for that semester. Final year cards carry the CGPA and the class awarded.

Mangalore University Grading System and SGPA Calculation

The university follows a 10-point scale under its NEP regulations. The table shows each grade with its marks range.

SGPA/CGPA Letter Grade Marks (%) Class
9.00-10.00 O (Outstanding) 90-100 Outstanding
8.00 to below 9.00 A+ (Excellent) 80 to below 90 First Class Exemplary
7.00 to below 8.00 A (Very Good) 70 to below 80 First Class Distinction
6.00 to below 7.00 B+ (Good) 60 to below 70 First Class
5.50 to below 6.00 B (Above Average) 55 to below 60 High Second Class
5.00 to below 5.50 C (Average) 50 to below 55 Second Class
4.00 to below 5.00 P (Pass) 40 to below 50 Pass Class
Below 4.00 F (Fail) Below 40 Fail/Reappear

Pass Marks Rule

A student needs at least 35% in the written exam of each course. The written exam and internal marks together must reach 40%. There is no minimum for internal assessment alone.

How SGPA Is Worked Out?

Credit points equal the grade point multiplied by the course credits. SGPA is the total credit points divided by total credits.

Example: A student earns grade point 8 in a 4-credit course and 6 in a 3-credit course. Credit points come to 32 plus 18, which is 50. Dividing 50 by 7 credits gives an SGPA of 7.14.
