NIT Uttarakhand offers a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, a full-time research programme designed to advance knowledge across diverse areas including thermal engineering, manufacturing, composite materials, renewable energy, and computational mechanics. The programme has a minimum duration of 3 years and can extend up to 5 years, with no fixed seat intake published per specialisation. Fees are highly affordable at Rs. 35,000 in the first year and Rs. 25,000 per year subsequently, making it one of the most cost-effective doctoral programmes among NITs.
