IIIT Allahabad B.Tech + M.Tech Electronics And Communication Engineering: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Here is some information to assist you in choice-making-

IIT Dhanbad Mechanical is the best option among the three. This college has a rich legacy and a strong brand value. Apart from that, it offers good placements with brands like Tata visiting the campus for recruitment purposes. 

But if you have an interest in Electrical, you can opt for IIT Tirupati. Unlike before, the college is now functioning from its permanent campus. The permanent campus is destined to house 12,500 students. It is under construction in phases, but it already houses 1500+ students at present. 

Therefore, IIT Dhanbad Mechanical is the best choice. But if Electrical interests you, opt for IIT Tirupati Electrical.

IIIT began its dual degree programs in 2013 which looked like B.Tech + M.Tech Dual Degree in I.T with specialization in Robotics and Software Engineering. Forwarding to the next year, an addition was made to these courses, and a couple of more programs were added.

For your convenience I am listing a few of them in detail so that you can get an idea of the structure:

• B.Tech (IT) - MTech (IT) with specializations in:
  • Software Engineering
  • Human-Computer Interaction
  • Intelligent Systems
  • Bioinformatics
• B.Tech (ECE) - MTech (ECE) with specialization in Microelectronics and Biomedical Engineering
• B.Tech (IT) - MBA (IT)
• B.Tech (ECE) - MBA (IT)

After completing the 5-year dual-degree program, you will be awarded the B.Tech. + M.Tech./MBA degree. you will find that the first 6 semesters are the same as the B.Tech. (IT)/B.Tech. (ECE) program and the rest have elements of a PG program.

If you go for a lateral entry into the PG (M.Tech. (IT)/ M.Tech. (ECE)/MBA) program then you will get elective courses in the 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th semesters. You may be allowed to change your specialization after the 1st semester, considering your academic performance.

Other such programs include Microelectronics, Biomedical Engineering, MBA in IT, and others. There are good internship and placement opportunities available if you choose the 5-year program. You will work on two small projects, 2 major projects and will have TO submit an M.Tech thesis. In addition to these, in your 3rd year, you can either take up industrial training or a research project under a professor at IIIT A or any other University of your choice. In your fourth year, you will be allowed to sit for placements.

During the XIMB interview, the overall dress code should always be formal, with a neat and clean dressing. You can follow these points for better understanding -

• The shirt should be neatly tucked in and not at all loose from any end during the interview.
• Always wear formal trousers, along with formal belts of some decent color.
• It is always better to wear a light-colored shirt, along with dark-colored trousers.
• Always wear formal shoes and not any kind of casual shoes.
• For girls, heels are acceptable with formal skirts. A simple hairstyle is always preferred. Overdoing the hair should be avoided.
• Wearing a Blazer is optional.
• Girls should avoid dark nail colors and excess jewelry.
