Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum was evidently outdated and irrelevant to modern engineering challenges and could have severely disadvantaged students' learning outcomes. Although, interaction with seniors compensated this.
Fees and Financial Aid
My fees during the first year was approximately 83k. Due to fee hike the fees increased every year. I paid almost 80k every year. Fees of the batchmates was same across all the categories. I paid around 3.2 lacs during 4 years of engineering. NSIT Merit scholarship was provided to top 25% students of each batch where they received 100 Rupees cash alongwith tuition fees waived for the academic session.
Campus Life
I was actively involved in student activities ranging from Freshers party to sports events. Also, I was Associate Brakes Department Lead and Fabrication Head at Bullethawk Racing. The library is abundant with books and journals necessary for engineering. The campus is huge and reminded me of JNU (lush-green forests) with even the cricket stadium being similar.
Admission
VIT Vellore, DTU and NITs I chose this college due to its reputation and placement opportunities. I failed to clear entrance exam of BITS Pilani. Apart from these, the interdisciplinary nature of my course and stellar conversion rate in Masters courses at Ivy League colleges further emboldened my decision.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio was on par with NITs. Faculty to student relationship was mostly average with the least handholding. Although, some of the faculties were exceptional in terms of knowledge and teaching. Prof. N.K. Tiwari, Pradeep Khanna and R.S. Parmar were some of the professors whose teachings were liked by most. Around 5-10% students face backlog at the end of degree.
Night Life
Gym at the college was quite packed with ample machines and amenities. There were multiple cafeterias that made going to college a fun-packed activity. During my time at college, there were 4 hostels for boys and 2 for girls. Night-life was a big let-down as the college was strict in enforcing curfew timings.
