My Journey at PCTE: From Classroom Learning to an International Internship

?I chose the Hotel Management course because of its industry-oriented curriculum, practical exposure, and diverse career opportunities in the hospitality sector. ?The curriculum effectively prepares students for real-world applications through practical sessions, industrial training, workshops, and exposure to current hospitality practices. ? none ?The course includes periodic internal assessments, practical examinations, and semester-end exams. Exams are conducted at regular intervals and are moderately difficult. Students who attend classes regularly and prepare consistently are generally able to perform well.

During internships, students are assigned practical projects and operational responsibilities such as guest handling, reservation management, food service operations, and food production. It includes companies like taj, oberoi, voco, Radisson, hyatt and w hotels. The outcomes of these internships include improved communication skills, teamwork, problem-solving abilities, and hands-on experience in hospitality operations.

Students become eligible for placement opportunities from the 8th semesters, with industrial exposure being an integral part of the Hotel Management program. And for internship program it starts from 5th semester. Companies like Taj , oberoi, Hyatt, Radisson, JW Marriott, w hotels , voco etc Highest package around ?8- 12 lakhs and average package is around ?5- 7 lakhs. 97% of students getting placement. My plan is join an international hotel brand to start my journey of becoming a general manager.

I am a proud student of PCTE, Baddowal, Ludhiana, currently pursuing my Hotel Management course. Year-wise fees paid is ?98,450. Other than that our college only take registration fees which is ?2000. No other charges are there. The fees structure is same for everyone. Yes Our college provide scholarship like pmx,merit based andd sports based for students.

My overall campus experience at PCTE, Baddowal, Ludhiana, has been excellent and enjoyable. The college provides a vibrant environment with ample opportunities for academic, social, and personal development. Annual cultural festivals and departmental events are organized throughout the year. The library is well-stocked with a wide range of textbooks, reference books, journals, magazines, and digital resources that are easily accessible to students. The college actively promotes sports and extracurricular activities, offering facilities for indoor and outdoor games .

This college was referred by my relatives and friends who were a part of pcte college. I chose PCTE, Baddowal, Ludhiana, over other colleges because of its strong reputation in Hotel Management, industry-oriented curriculum, experienced faculty, and excellent placement and internship opportunities. The admission process was smooth and hassle-free. Eligibility for the course is completion of 10+2 from a recognized board. Admission is primarily merit-based, and the college provides proper guidance throughout the application and counseling process. No, I don't get any rejection from any other colleges.

The faculty-to-student ratio is well balanced, which allows students to receive individual attention and guidance. The faculty members are approachable, supportive, and always willing to clarify doubts and provide career advice. I like everyone faculty and their teaching methods as well their kind and understanding nature. There are total 3 exams which includes 2 internal exams (MSE1 and MSE2) and 1 external exam. The exams are moderately difficult and can be cleared comfortably with regular study and practical understanding. Percentage of students fail is 5%. The course curriculum is highly relevant to the hospitality industry. It provides a balanced combination of theoretical knowledge and practical exposure, helping students develop the skills required for internships and future career opportunities.

The area around PCTE, Baddowal, Ludhiana, offers a peaceful and student-friendly environment. While the campus itself maintains discipline and fixed timings, students have several options to relax and socialize after classes. There are 24/7 security guards in the college. The locality around the college is generally safe and well-connected. Students can comfortably visit nearby eateries and recreational places, although they are encouraged to follow hostel regulations and avoid staying out late.
