What Students Say
Likes
- I like some of my teachers because they really take time to explain to us international students
- I like the food that is served at the canteen
Dislikes
- Some lectures are poor in English so it makes communication difficult sometimes
Course Curriculum Overview
For my program, i really enjoy the course curriculum especially since the school patnered with NextGen. The curriculum is up to date and we learn relevant things keeping up with the latest trends in tech. We also have seminars with industry experts which is always wonderful and of great benefit. I think they can improve on career guidance for the students
Internships Opportunities
Like I said earlier I'm not sure if internship is the right word to use, rather industry training is what they offer and help with placements to where you will receive the best industrial training. I wanna do data engineering so my project is to build a data lakehouse. I will give my internship experience a 1 star only cause I haven't been
Placement Experience
I truly don't know about placements but the school says they are good at getting students placed. They do help with getting industry training. For my program we will be going for industrial training in the month of June once we finish our exams. My plan is to be a data engineer after university. I hope to work for apple or netflix in India for maybe two years then do something else after. I don't think the school helps with paid internships at all rather just industrial training
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is 80000INR per year and it is a fair amount. The school does not demand or require any other fees just the fees but if you are late for exam registration they fine you 500 INR. For other categories other than my category their fees structures deeper some pay more and some pay less
Campus Life
Campus life here at APG is okay, nothing crazy happens here. For a better lack of terms it's pretty mundane and boring, but for me that's great. I'm a man of God so I'm not interested in the club environment so I don't know much about it. The infrastructure could definitely use an upgrade. The students and teachers here all are friendly so I guess social life is great
Admission
So I applied to sanskriti university, chandigarh university, chandigarh group of colleges and APG Shimla university. I started off learning at sanskriti and was there for a year before transferring to APG. The weather in Mathura was unbearable for me that's why I left. I got admissions in all the schools i mentioned but ultimately I chose APG Shimla university because of the affordable fees and also the weather in shimla is much better than in all the other places
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio if I were to guess is 1:30. The faculties are very friendly and approachable. Exams are 50-50 by that I mean sometimes they can be difficult but sometimes they are easy so it's a good balance
Night Life
I don't stay in the hostel, I stay in my own apartment so I don't know about the hangout spots. At my own place at night I usually just relax and watch a movie or too. The school has a gym but I've never been but I heard it's okay. The library is wonderful. My favourite place at the University has to be either the computer lab or the canteen. Outside the school the place people mostly go to to have fun is the mall. And yes the locality is very very safe. I love it
