Honest review on Academics and Campus Life in Medicaps University

Curriculum in medicaps is mostly theory based , eventhough practical courses are also included but they are not upto mark with industrial standards. For example in your 6th sem you can opt for machine learning as your course but mostly the teacchers will teach the theory part only which is sufficient to pass the examination. Curriculum should be modified and should include knowledge to use new in use technologies with hands on experience. There are three exams two mid semester (easy level ) and one end semester moderate level which are not very difficult to pass.

Placement activities generally start from 6th semester and companies start coming for campus drive from 7th semester. Since last few years the percentage of students getting placed has been falling but still a lot of companies come . Companies like tcs (mass recruiter), accenture, cisco, ibm, tech mahindra, cognizant ,etc . There would be some companies which are starups but they only recruit 2-3 students at generally 4-6 lpa packages. The average packages are around 6lpa and most of students get placed in 3-4 lpa package only. Around 40-50% Students get placed others go for off campus. Huge packages like 20lpa or 15lpa is rare and only 1-2 students get it.

My fees is 165000 per year for my btech cse course . The tution fee is around 145000 and 20k is the development fee. They also charge an examination fee of 2500 per semester called as course registration fee. There is no as such management quota admissions are given on merit. The course fee has now been increased to 200000 per year for new admissions. Scholarships like obc scholarship and medhavi are given and also you can get some scholarship by appearing in their entrance exam called MUSAT.

Campus life in medicaps is quite relaxed as work load gets significantly reduced after 1st year. Also the campus is big so you can have a good college life if your circle is good. The annual event is called moonstone which is celebrated at big level , it includes dj and star night which are mostly enjoyable. But other than that no major events or even festival celebrations are held in the campus. Central library is one of the best part as it is big and spacious with almost all types of required books. The classrooms of cse department are very spacious and every class has a projector and smart board with blackboards. Teachers generally use ppts to teach and there are no acs in classrooms. Sports activities are held very rare , university team mostly only participates in inter college contests. But there are a lot of clubs for students including cultural , photography , advanced studies, maths , entrepreneurship and many more. These clubs keep organizing events but college doesnot provide attendence for attending any such event.

I was also selected in vit bhopal but due to some personal reasons I was not able to take it . But I think medicaps is a better option than vit vellore as the location is well connected to the main city and proximity to majority of facilities which is not available in vit. Also as a day scholar it was easy to reach here because of good bus facility by university. Admission process is very simple in MU, you can apply directly by visiting the campus admission cell and completing some formalities. The selection criteria is simple and can get computer science easily if you have 75% or above in boards. There is no as such strict counselling process to get admission . You can also appear in MUSAT exam to get admission but I didn't appear in it.

There are around 200 teachers in cse department and around 500 teachers total in medicaps university . Most of the faculties are from private colleges only but most of them are helpful and can solve your doubts and issues . But some teachers are not very coperative but it totally depends on your luck that whether you get good teachers or not. Most of teachers teach through ppts as every classroom has its own projector attached in class. There are two mid semester exams which are easy to pass and one end semester exam which is of moderate level is held every semester . Passing these exams is not very difficult as most of courses are theory based and can be learnt easily.

There is no night life in medicaps as entry in university after college hours is not allowed to out siders . Only students living in hostel and teachers living in campus are allowed . There is seperate hostel for boys and girls but I am a day scholar so I don't know much about it. There are three canteens in the whole campus and the best spot is cafein which is open till late evening . Most students prefer staying indoors only because entry after 7 pm is not allowed and also security maintains full list of entry and exit times of students. Apna Sweets, fundore and guru kripa are near the campus and are best hangout spots outside the campus.
