Course Curriculum Overview
KMCLU Lucknow have scored good with its B.Tech courses (CSE, CS AI, DS, AI DS). As Computer science and Engineering is the core course, it covers the basics of AI and DS both. Hence I chose to go with CSE. Here, you can participate in multiple project programmes, to get initial understanding of real world applications, seminars are held on regular basis which helps to think and innovate. University should update the CSE core course with new concepts used in AI and DS nowadays. It will keep studets updated with the new market changes and technologies. Every semester, after 4 months of classes, exam time starts with practicals. So there is enough time to get prepared for the exams. Practicals and viva before the exams helps a lot in quick revision and getting prepared for the exams.
Placement Experience
My college has an average placement of 6LPA. Placement eligibility starts from the end of 5th semester, but when I got promoted to 5th semester, placements declined due the the restructuring in placement cell. So our batch missed the opportunity to attend any placements. In year 2022, the highest placement was around 22LPA and in year 2023, it declined to 9 LPA as there was restructuring in team. After getting my degree I will look for carrier opprotunities on my own, as I have not experienced any placement in my college years.
Fees and Financial Aid
I got lateral admission in KMCLU Lucknow in 2022, for B.trch in Computer Science and Engineering. Yearly fee for B.tech is INR 76000/year approx. Here is the detailed categorised break-up of fee (in INR): Registration fee : 3000 Tuition fee : 19000 Game fee : 200 Library fee : 700 Student welfare e-Fund : 100 Exam fee : 4000 Development fee : 6000 Cultural activity fee : 750 Computer lab : 100 There are some other charges also which at the end sum up to INR 76000/year. The fee was same for all m bachmates. But the benefit was of scholarship. Students can also avail scholarships under UP scholarship scheme. Scholarship amount varies per individual according to their background(SC/ST,OBC,GENERAL, EWS). Students have to met 75% attendance to apply scholarship. For OBC the scholarship amount was INR 50,000 approx. For SC/ST, amount was INR 76,000 approx. For General, amount was 46,000 approx.
Campus Life
Technical festivals are mostly held in July-August (hacakthons). Clutural activites and sports are held around October month. University have a library with variety of books, for tecnical and non technical courses. Library hs the books to learn and seperate language, as there is course available on multiple languages. Sports events are also held in competition with otther colleges in Volleyball and Cricket.
Admission
I gave CUET to get admission in B.tech CSE (Lateral entry), selected 3 colleges in priority; IET Lucknow, MJPRU Rohilkhand and KMCLU Lucknow. As there is only 12-14 seats available for CSE lateral in every college and high number of applicants the cutoff was high. My marks were not up to the mark to get selected for IET and MJPRU, but I got selected for KMCLU Lucknow. I had to balance my academic and family responsiblities, I chose this college. For the admission process, we had to fill an application form along with INR 3000 registration fee. For CSE lateral entry, I had to submit my CUET scorecard and my Diploma certificate. CUET requires 3 year Diploma certificate with 60% passing marks. Most of the students coose JEE-Mains for college admissions, as it is a well know UG competitive exam, which covers almost every good college in India.
Faculty
For every subject, a particular faculty is available, having speciality in that subject. Faculty is knowledgebale and understanding, helps out the students with almost everything whther it is related to academic of personal life. Mr. Tasleem Jamal and Ass. Prof. Saima Aleem are student's favourite personalities, because of their approachable nature. B.tech CSE is 4 year course, with 2 exams per year (semester), with total of 8 exams. As I was a lateral entry student, I gave 6 exams to complete this course. The level of exams are moderate, dividing the question paper in 3 sections;A- Short answers, B- 1 Para answers, C- Long answers. In every semester, there is atleast one subject in which students lags to clear, subjects like DAA, TOC, Maths-3.
Night Life
Yes, we have gym in our campus area. But only free-weights available. University should bring advanced appliances. We have 2 grounds to chill out. One is for sports, if anyone intrested , they can play in that ground. Other one is for meet and greets, students usually hangouts there, by having snacks, gossips etc,. There is nightlife in the campus area, but only up to 9:00 PM. After that students can enjoy within their hostel area.
Other Applied Colleges
Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University - [MJPRU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Information Technology)
MJPRU Rohilkhand is a good university, but at that time I opted for KMCLU Lucknow. Its academic environment and infrastructure is also good. The course fee is average, good for students with financially constrained background.
