Course Curriculum Overview

5

As a ECE student, I would rate the course curriculum around 3.5/5 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness. I chose this course mainly because of the strong focus on core subjects like Analog & Digital Electronics, Signals and Systems, Communication Systems, and VLSI basics, which helped me build a solid foundation. There is definitely scope for improvement by adding more hands-on labs, industry-oriented tools, mini-projects, and updated software exposure. Teaching methods could be more application based instead of being only exam oriented.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internship opportunities were available mainly through a mix of college programs, placement cell support, and self applied internships. The college encourages students to complete atleast one internship.

Placement Experience

5

Placements at our college are decent and consistent , especially for students who actively participate in training and prepare well. Students generally become eligible for campus placements in 7th semester. Every year several companies visit the campus, mainly IT and core and good number of offers we made. Common companies include TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Tech Mahindra etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

I'm a graduate from Vishnu Institute of Technology and I was a JVD(Jagananna Vidhya Divena) scholarship Student. During my course, the tuition fee for my batch was around ?60,000 per year, but it was reimbursed through the JVD Scheme. For the full 4-year program, the total tuition, we had to pay compulsory charges like admission and registration fees(one-time), CRT fees, Semester Exam fees and extra training fees, which were not covered under the scholarship. Students without scholarships paid the full tuition fee, while management quota students paid much higher fees, around ?1.5 to 2.4 lakhs per year depending on the branch. Fees have increased gradually for newer batches.

Campus Life

5

My experience at college was balanced and structured, with a mix of academics and limited but meaningful social exposure. The college conducts an annual cultural fest and a technical fest once a year, usually between February and March, where students get opportunities to participate in cultural events, technical competitions. Overall campus is safe, organized, and supportive, but students who want exposure need to be proactive in using the available platforms.

Hostel Facilities

3

I stayed in the college hostel for two years, and overall the experience was decent but basic. Hostel rooms are usually shared 2 to 4 numbers and are provided with beds, racks, fans and lights. Bathrooms are common and separate

Admission

I chose this college after comparing it with several other colleges. I applied to because it offered the right balance of academics, placements, discipline and affordability, especially with scholarship support. As an ECE student, my priority was a college with stable faculty, decent infrastructure and consistent placement opportunities rather than just brand name. I couldn't secure admission in some higher-ranked colleges mainly because my EAMCET rank was slightly above their cutoffs, and competition for seats was high, which came down to rank and seat availability rather than eligibility. Overall choosing VIT was a practical decision that offered good academic value, placement support.

Faculty

3

The faculty-to-student ratio is fairly decent, roughly 1 faculty for 20-25 students. Most faculty members are approachable, especially if you show interest in academics. The relationship between students and faculty is professional, and may lecturers are open to clearing doubts during or after class hours. The course structure follows the university syllabus and covers core subjects well, though it may is more theoretical and could use better industry exposure. Each semester has two internal exams and one end semester exam. The exam level is moderate and students who attend classes and prepare regularly usually pass. Failures are limited and mostly due to lack of preparation and attendance.

Night Life

5

Night life at our college is good. Inside the campus, facilities like the library, labs, and classroom usually close by evening, after which students mostly stay in hostels, The gym and sports areas are generally accessible in the morning and early evening hours only.

Placement Experience:

Placements in my college are fair and show slow growth each year. The placement cell gives train for apti, group talk, and mock test. Some good firms visit, but high pay roles are less. Many students get placed with avg pay. For those not placed, college gives skill train and guide for off campus jobs. Some plan for higher study or exams. Overall, college gives base, but self work is also key for job. The companies that come in our college is tata, wipro, infosys, deloitte, etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is fairly relevant and covers core concepts that align with industry basics, which influenced my choice. It prepares reasonably well for jobs/higher studies but lacks depth in emerging areas. Exams (2–3 internals + final) are moderate. Needs more practical exposure, updated content, and project-based learning.
