Course Curriculum Overview

4

Instrumentation is a very versatile field. It has components of all electronics, physics and mathematics and tech. This curated my curiosity towards this course. However the awareness around this field is low and more and more students must get to know about this branch.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees per yer of my college Shaheed Rajguru College,Delhi University ranges somwhere around 40,000 per year(both sem) combined. It is gradually escalating with an approx increament of 2-5000 probably as compared to previous years. However numerous scholarship opportunities are available for students who have a family income of less than 8lpa and whose parents do not do any govt job.

Campus Life

5

Our college conducts Karwan fest in the month of feb and Ujjwal Mela in nov. These two are the major fests conducted here.Sports fest Sparddha is also organized every year. The library is huge and has separate sectiona for the departments. The club culture is also great. You get to experience responsibilties and meet new people through socities and clubs.

Hostel Facilities

4

The room has a bed, cupboard, study table and a chair. You get 4 meals a day with a predecided menu. The food is actually pretty good when compared to the other options available like the PGs. You need check on the college website for hoste form and fill in there for admissions. There are many pg options available nearby in noida ,new ashok nagar and mayur vihar areas.

Admission

This course was available in only one other college of Delhi University since I have already mentioned the awareness is low so not many college offer this.As per my decision of getting admission in this college is taken into consideration,my college then had a great nirf ranking which provoked me to get in here. For admission process, you need to create your preference list with the list of courses and colleges you want to study in.If you cleared the cutoff, you could get the college of your liking. The admission procedure is a bit hectic since DU has almost 90 colleges and creating preference list is much of a task.

Faculty

3

There are around 7-8 professors in the department of instrumentation and around 22 students. So the teacher to student ratio is fair and one gets the notice of professors. All the teachers are ace in their fields. They've all mostly done their phds or are under completion. Teachers provide support and mentorship to students. There is one exam at the end of each sem.The exams are of moderate level and most of them pass it with ease.In DU,everyone gets to pass on to the next sem even if you have back in all subjects provided that you clear it up on the alternate semester. The course is very relevant but the awareness around it is extremely low.

Night Life

3

There are a few food outlets nearby. Most students like to chill and hang out there during free classes or after college. Hostel timing are uptil 7:00pm during summers and 6:30 pm during winters so hostel students rarely get to see the nightlife. Also the rules are very strict in the hostel. I personally do not think the locality if safe for girls since its Delhi and that too east delhi which is not considered safe !

Other Applied Colleges

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of Hansraj College is quite active. You are eligible to sit for campus placement offers from 5th semester onwards. Companies like Deloitte, capgemini arw frequent recruiters for several posts and positions. The highest offered package is somewhere around 22000 with the average being at 700000-800000. Not all students get placed on campus, however thr hands on training and learning makes you industry ready, making you eligible amd worthy to apply for off campus placement opportunities. Many students prefer not to sit for campus placements and rather opt for higher studies after graduation. I plan to do the same after getting my undergraduate degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think the BSc Statistics (H) offered by Sri Venkateshwara College has been quite relevant and comprehensive in content. The core courses such as probability, inference, regression, and econometrics were the major reasons for opting for the subject of statistics. It provides us in-depth analytical training that is necessary for higher education and work in the field of data, though there is a need for exposure to software/tools as well. The semester-wise examination, which is moderately tough

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is just like any other college, and you need to do a lot of the skill enhancement by yourself. Here, you will learn something, but not everything that is relevant. The professors will teach according to the syllabus, be it really relevant in real life or not. Everything that you will be learning will be relevant for career in this field, but not enough. You require to put some extra efforts to gain more knowledge and practice.

Placement Experience:

Students typically become eligible from 3rd year/6th semester onwards for most companies. Some internships and tech roles may be available to 2nd-year students depending on the company criteria. Placement Percentage: Usually, 70–85% of eligible students get placed, depending on the stream. Highest placement rates are often in Computer Science, Economics, and Commerce streams. My plan is to become a software engineer.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Cource curriculum is highly relevant. It covers fundamental and advanced concepts of zoology , which was the main reason I choose this course. Subjects like human physiology, biochemistry, biomolecules, comparative anatomy of vertebrates, animal behaviour, ...etc. are highly interested and align with my interest. Practical components help in developing and understanding concepts more clearly. However, real world applications is limited. Curriculum prepare students well for further academics for PG or other competitive exams. Exam system is conducted at regular intervals with Internal assessment and semester end. Timings are appropriate . Difficulty level is moderate to high.

Hindu College, Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Mathematics)
Reviewed on Jan 6, 2026(Enrolled 2025)

Course Curriculum Overview:

For B.Sc (Hons) Mathematics at Hindu College, the curriculum follows the latest DU UGCF?2022 structure, so it covers both strong theory and some modern applications. The main reason to choose this course is the depth in core areas like Calculus, Algebra, Real Analysis, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations and Probability, which builds a very solid base for higher studies like M.Sc, data science or research. There are six semesters with continuous internal assessment plus end?semester exams, so students study regularly instead of only before finals. Exams are usually moderate to difficult because questions are concept?based, but the pattern is fair and gives weightage to assignments, tutorials and attendance. Overall, the course is quite comprehensive and relevant for careers in teaching, analytics, government exams and higher academics, though adding more practical projects, programming and real?life modelling could make it even more industry?oriented
