Course Curriculum Overview

5

The reason why i chose to pursue the degree of BA.LLB is because of enlightenment and awareness it gives to an individual about what is happening around them and the legal and fundamental rights of a common person with no political power in India. The curriculum somewhat prepares student for a real world experience as the degree involves internships from 3rd year onwards. I'm still learning myself so can't tell what's there to improve in studies and the syllabus. 2 exams being held every semester, that is internals and the externals. It comes with a leniency though, because it could be harder but isn't, just enough shall be gone through before the exams. Even if someone pays attention in the class with no notes and not being busy on the phone, he/she can still pass easily.

Fees and Financial Aid

Rs 1,12,300/- yearly for BA.LLB. No scholarships, or financial aid by the faculty unless someone takes admission through another student. The one who refers gets Rs. 10,000/- off of his/her course, doesn't matter what the course is.

Campus Life

3

Diwali fest is one of the main festivals, other than that the frequency is around once every 2 months with little fests. Useful books for the course available in libraries however digital library is still unaccessible. Facilities are shit, sorry for the language but no smart boards in the BA.LLB wing, though wings with other courses are still far better with better seating. Sports and extracurricular activities are held frequently, almost regular but i didn't part in any. Several clubs and societies offering great opportunities for public speaking skills and betterment of students.

Admission

I Gave CUET, CLAT, and aimed for DU colleges but couldn't get past it. Admissions were already done in the IPU but spot rounds got me cleared for the college. Couldn't make it to DU colleges, firstly because of high competition resulting in high cutoffs and secondly because of the Quota system which was only meant to be there for 10-15 years I think but now seems permanent. Admission criteria is same as other IPU colleges, can be through either CLAT or CUET.

Faculty

4

Faculty is much more less than the students for sure. Female teachers mostly chase validity from the students and doesn't care much about the studies and student behavior, because of which the management is very inconsistent. New joining teachers every semester because every other teacher just leaves. Still doesn't mean everyone is like that and great experiences can be made in college life. Exams aren't that tough if students study properly atleast. But the amount of students failing exams shows college reputation as they probably giving them admissions by illegal means or quotas. Course curriculum can still be considered relevant because pattern of IPU is followed throughout.

Night Life

1

No nightlife college closes at 5pm. 2 multipurpose machines they have in basement, which we still haven't found out yet even after 2nd year of the degree, yes they call it gym. No hostels only PGs around the area could be considered. All-over poor locality with dump and waste landfill on one side and sewage waste on the other.
