My honest Experience at Ahmedabad University

the curriculum at ahmedabad university is structured in a way that gives you both depth in your major and exposure to areas outside it. the foundation programme was one of the reason i chose this course,because itt helps you build a broad base before you go deeper into your discipline. most subjects are taught with a focus on practical understanding, which makes it easier to connect what you learn to real situations, internships and higher studies. the mix of core course and electives and interdiscplinary options gives you enough freedom to shape your path the content is fairly updated, although some subjects could use more industry-focused case studies and hands-on components. teaching methodds vary across faculty, but projects work and continuos ec=valuation help you understand the material instead of relying only on exams.

Ahmedabad University offers a good range of internship opportunities through its industry connections and placements cell. Companies from tech, consulting, finance, research and start-ups visit for internships, offering roles like analyst, developer, marketing intern and operations trainee. Many internships come with a stipend. Students usually work on practical projects such as market research, basic software modules, data analysis or campaign planning, which helps build real experience and confidence. The university also supports students in finding their own internships if they want something specific, and faculty often guide students on choosing meaningful projects. Overall, the internships are useful for understanding work culture and improving skills before placements

Placements at Ahmedabad University are structured and well-organised. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester, and the placements cell starts preparing us earlier through workshops, mock interviews and resume sessions. A good range of companies visit the campus, including consulting firms, it companies, finance and analytics roles, start-ups and well-known multinational organisations. The number of offers varies each year, but most visiting companies recruit for roles like business analysts, software developers, marketing associates, finance trainees and operations roles.

I am currently paying 375000 yearly fees for my tuition fees, and for each sem it is 187500. There are no extra fees for the library and exams, and there is a scholarship for those whose family's annual income is less than 50000 rupees. They will get around 95 - 100 % scholarship on the fees according to their income; admission fees for this are around 250 rupees. There is nothing else about the fees

Campus life at Ahmedabad University is lively and supportive. The library has a strong range of books, journals and online resources. Classrooms are modern with good tech and steady wi-fi. Festivals, cultural events and technical activities happen throughout the year, and sports facilities add to the campus experience. Student clubs in music, tech entrepreneurship and arts make it easy to connect with others and stay involved.

I applied to a few well-known colleges in Gujarat and some private universities outside the state. Most had similar programmes, but Ahmedabad University felt like a better fit because of its flexible curriculum and the chance to explore courses across different schools. Other colleges followed a stricter, exam-heavy structure, while Ahmedabad University focused more on projects, discussion and practical understanding, which matched the way I prefer to learn. I received admission letters from a couple of colleges,

Faculty-student ratio: approximately 1:18. Faculty are generally helpful and approachable. There is a foundation program for the 1st year called FDP, and it is a very unique system. It is very painful for your mind, and on top of that, you can choose your college timetable according to your availability. Grading system: mid sem + end sem + assignment + quizes + attendance requirement (>=75%), there is a credit system for the whole 4 years. You have to complete your 175 credits to get a degree; other wise you are not able to get the degree

Nightlife around Ahmedabad University is calm but enjoyable. The campus closes by evening, and the library and cafeterias shut at scheduled times, so most late hangouts happen off-campus. Students usually visit nearby cafes, law garden stalls, or quiet spots around the IIM road. The area is busy and generally safe at night, so it's easy to unwind with friends after classes without going far
