Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course that I opted is very good. Many students before coming to engineering or even during the engineering don't have the idea of instrumentation and control engineering. But it is like a combination of both software and hardware systems. This instrumention is every where, medical, oil industries, process industries...

Internships Opportunities

3

Many companies comes to our college to give internships with stipend, some big companies like microsoft, american express comes to our college with heavy stipends.. they mostly shortlist the students based on CGPA.. they put a boundary on mostly around 8.5 CGPA. So if u your CGPA is quite descent but not high, prefer the off campus internship.

Placement Experience

4

Placement is overall good, the companies gives heavy package to CSE and IT Fields, the avg package is around 13.35LPA and for our department is around 11LPA with 100% placement ratio in 2025.. And the most unexpected thing that happened in our college is that a student from instrudrial and production engineering got a package of 4.07 CR from off-campus..

Fees and Financial Aid

For ST students thier no tution fees. You just have to pay hostel and mess charges.. in even semester the fees is around Rs 25500 and in odd semester it is around Rs 30500 for Hostelers. So it around Rs 56000 in1 year and Rs 448000 for total 4 years. For General students , the hostel and mess fees is same, just they have to add additional tution fees. If the student's family income is less than 1 lakh, they don't have to pay any tution fees, only mess fees have to be paid. If the student's family income is in between 1lakh to 5 lakh, they have to pay around Rs 51300.(Mess+tution fees) And if the student's family income is more than 5 lakh, they have to pay around Rs 93000 per semester (mess+, fees)

Campus Life

3

We have every facilities that a student can expect before coming to this college.. For music: we have a music club called OCTAVES. For dance: SI club and CRIMINALZ(very high social media followed). and also we have speech, acting, drama, cultural and many many more.. For tech , evey branches has thier own clubs .. For sports: e have a well structured basketball court and the football ground is well developed with high light poles..

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facility is quite debatable, if u want good food, you have to compromise your hostel rooms and if you want good hostel rooms, you have to compromise your food.. But the ratio is not equal, getting good hostel is much more better than running towards good mess food at NITJ.. So pick hostel wisely.

Admission

I was getting mechanical - civil in NIT Silchar, and I wasn't interested in this branches, as I wanted to go in tech-core branches, and Civil was a big No.. even my home is in Assam , still I choosed ICE as this branches fulfills my expectation..

Faculty

3

Faculty-to-student ratio is around 7.6/10, some teachers are very good and friendly, and some teachers are a bit rude, but it all depends on the student's behaviour toward the faculties . There are total of 2 main exams and 3 quizes{ 5 marks each(best 2 out of 3)} in a semester. The 2 main exams consider a mid sem of 30 marks and 50 marks end sem. A student must have to score a marks of 40 out of 100 and a min of 15 marks in end sem to pass in that semester.

Night Life

3

The nightlife is quiet good, for boys in 1st year, they were not allowed to go outside of campus after 9-10pm but from 2md year onwards, they have full 24 hours freedom. My friends and I even sometimes goes to eat noodles at around 3 am and returns back at 4 am.. but the girls weren't allowed to go outside of thier hostel from 10 pm even for seniors.

Mid cap to large cap, every company that can afford our students services are invited to our university for hiring students. Thus far nearly 500 organizations have been invited to our university and a good bit of placements percentage is also there. No students of our university recruited have come under fire and therefore the companies which have laid faith in LPU students have kept hiring year after year.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I went for CSe bcz it has best career scope. The curriculum is comprehensive but a bit heavy. It touches almost all topics but didn't go deep into latest tech like AI or Cloud computing, which was a drawback. Improvements? Definitely the teaching style. Some profs are good but many rush through the syllabus to finish it. They should include more project based learning instead of just theory exams. Exams are manageable. We have typical sem system. Timing is predictable but sometimes the schedule is very tight with no gaps between papers. Difficulty wise its okay, most students study a week before exams and manage to clear them.

Around 600 recruiters so far has hired students from LPU. Not just domestic but even international names have hired students from LPU. So, I don't think one even has to look beyond LPU for that matter. I am happy that students from here have got the opportunity to work in their dream companies and soon I will be giving interviews as I am also in my final year now.

My overall campus life at Lovely Professional University (LPU) has been vibrant and engaging. Events like One India (January) and YouthVibe (February) add strong cultural and social exposure, while technical fests run through the academic year. The central library offers extensive books, journals, and digital resources. Smart classrooms with projectors and Wi-Fi support learning. Sports facilities, clubs, and student societies keep campus life active, inclusive, and skill-oriented.

Placement Experience:

Though when I got admission in this college, I saw the placement rates were very nice, around 95%, but maybe it was our session's fault. I passed out in 2024, and in that particular year, the placements were not as expected and as seen in the previous batch, so that was something very much disappointing because I paid so much money on a degree, only everything was good about the college, but in the end, placement matters during my session. Usually, the companies that hired for example, 10 students only hired two students.
