Get to know About "Vignan's Institute of Information Technology"

I liked the fact that the curriculum included basics of different branches and in depth knowledge of our branch subjects. The curriculum includes laboratories where real world applications are explained and implemented. There are no major improvements. But should include more practicals than theory. After half of the syllabus is completed, mid-1 is conducted and after that mid-2 is conducted for next half of the syllabus.There is some revision time given for semester exams like one week.

Our college Vignan's Institute of Information Technology provides internships in various compaies and projects. Some companies are Amazon, Accenture, Infosys. In these companies internships were provided with pre-palcement offer. And the stipend is aroung 30000-40000. Our college also provides internships within the college under professors where they can gain knowledge on real world applications and gain more knowledge from professors.

From 6th semester ending onwards, students are eligible for placements. Many companies had visited our campus. Companies like Amazon,TCS,Infosys,Cognizant,Accenture and Inncircles and many more and each year nearly 700-800 students get placed. Highest package is around 36 LPA in the company CRED. Average package is around 5 LPA. Nearly 70% students from all branches get placed. After getting a degree, I would like to continue in my job after i get one.

I am currently paying 52000 rupees as my college fee and the fee is same throughout my btech Tution fees is 52000 and library and infrastructure fees is around 2000. For other branches, the library and infrastructure fees varies and ranges from 2000-3000. Scholarships or financial aid available for students are Ammavodi provided by government of Andhra Pradesh.

Every academic year, many technical fests are conduted like Vista where many technical contests are conducted and all students actively participate in the event. It is usually held in august or september. There are many technical books and inspirational books available in the library. All branches subject books are available. Smart Boards are provided to the classrooms which ease the visual teaching to students. Sports are conducted in every event and every celebration. Celebrations like freshers, farewell and Yuvtarang are conducted. There are many technical and sports clubs in the college. Students can join the clubs and improve their skills.

I had applied to different colleges in visakhapatnam with my eapcet rank. In addition to vignan, I had applied for Gayatri vidya parishad college and ANITS college and also AU engineering college in visakhapatnam. I got admission in Artificial Intelligence branch in Vignan. I had applied for CSE branch in all the above colleges and due to my eamcet rank I couldn't get admission in cse. Then I had applied for AI brach in vignan. I believed that vignan college is better in teaching and placements than other colleges. So, if not cse I opted for AI in vignan.

The faculty-to-student ratio is around one faculty is to around 50-60 students. Even though the ratio is high, the teacher to student relationship is good. All the faculties are ready everytime to answer students doubts. The name of the faculties I liked are Mrudula Mam who taught us maths, Mohan Mahanty Sir who taught us Artificial Intelligence and almost every faculty. They teach very enthusiastically. The faculties I didn't like are none. Because all the faculty members are very friendly and approachable. They teach the concepts very well and clarify our doubts. There are 3 examinations in a semester. Mid-1 , Mid-2 and semester exams and lab internals and externals.Usually 2-3 students fail in a difficult subject. The course curriculum is relevant to our jobs.

1. Outdoor gym is available in our college. There are two food canteens available and one stationary store. There is one big central library in our college where many students can fit at the same time. 2. Hostel facility is available for both boys and girls and strict rules are followed in hostels for protection of students. 3. We can hangout anywhere in the college. All the places are clean and we can roam safely at night. There are automatic night sensor bulbs in the college.
