Course Curriculum Overview

4

Curriculum is highly planned and very vast. Regular revision is necessary to caver all subjects. All subjects are taught with high practical basis hence ensuring exposure and preparing for real life exposure. Teaching could be more consise and logic based. Main exams are every 2 to 3 months with difficulty slightly higher in term 2 than term 1.

Internships Opportunities

4

There is a cumpolsory internship after the final year. It is highly interactive and prepares for the future. It is very time consuming and students report not having time for studying. There is a mandatory rural bond.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total tuition fee structure for the course is about 1,46,000 per year for general student.EWS and SEBC candidates have the opportunity for scholarship after applying. The yearly hostel fees for girls is 4000rs. Additional charges including gym fees, development fees and caution fees amount up to 6000rs.

Campus Life

3

All student fests are around the April month including Gathering, sports events including cricket, handball for both girls and boys.Fashion shows and Orchestra evenings are also planned in April. Most tradition events are also celebrated. The campus includes a library which is accessible from 2nd year. Each classroom has a PowerPoint and air conditioning. Student clubs like IMA councils, Dance club,Music club and drama club are also present.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel room is in campus and is basically a 1BHK alloted to 4 students with 2 cots in the inner room and 2 in the hall It also includes a spacious kitchen and a balcony with seperate bathroom and toilet. Accommodation is different every year. Bulbs have to be installed by ourselves and room cleaning is also done as per student. The hostel is highly affordable with 4000rs as yearly fees. Some problems of water and electricity are faced. The registration process takes place during admission and is short and most people received rooms

Admission

I had applied for all government colleges in Maharashtra for MBBS. According to my cutoff I was not alloted a college in first round but was alloted SVNGMC Yavatmal in the second round. The allotment did not change in the third round upon which i confirmed the college. I got admission to SVNGMC through hilly areas criteria via the NEET UG exam. The admission process is complex however it can be made simpler by appointing a councellor. The overall admission process was tedious however bery clear and well informed. Adequate time is available to make decisions and collect requirements

Faculty

4

Every department of 1st year has an average of 5 professors and 2 JRs while the total student count is 200. Most of the professors of anatomy are excellent teachers. Biochemistry department is always ready to guide students in all aspects.there are regular class tests for each subject called continuous class tests. There are two term exams followed by prelims and then university exams in the end.

Night Life

2

The nigylife is highly inexperienced especially by girls . Locals and seniors do not recommend going out after dark due to safety concerns. Street lights in the campus are not maintained. From second year onwards using the library is allowed which is open till atleast 8pm. There is a small open gym. The girls hotel gates close at 9:30 pm. There is a small garden in the campus which is present but not usually used at night

Remarks:

The college in general is very good but the infrastructure is quite a bit small for a large number of students who are studying in the college. The campus is felt small because there are residents and the people working in hospital also lives here.
