Course Curriculum Overview
I have always loved mathematics. After going through the curriculum it has only madee go for it even more. The difficulty ofcourse consistently increases but the teaching atleast in most times atleast in mathematics is good but there are exceptions.
Internships Opportunities
Everyday almost 3 to 4 oppertunities are provided. Our institution has quite large ties with national and international institutions, and companies. This is not restricted to any specific subject as such and is more encouraged.
Placement Experience
Our college encourages diversification but due to the primary aim being research, most people go for a career in academia but placements are also provided in major companies but the percentage of students going for this choice is low.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is great. It is almost 50000 per semester. About 20000 goes into hostel and the rest goes into tuition fee and other amenities. This does not include the mess as such as it's pay to eat system here
Campus Life
I am quite social and have found the environment quite safe and active. Discussions with peers, juniors and seniors are quite common. Club activities and positions are open to anyone capable enough giving us experience in varied fields.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is quite literally among the best in India. The response for any kind of query, problem is quite fast and work starts quite quickly. Mostly through online, but the problems could also be communicated in person anytime.
Admission
Due to my interest in research, this and IISc were the two best choices but I've heard that IISER Pune is well known for its BS MS curriculum for which I chose this and came through their IAT exam. The other entries included previously through JEE advanced and KVPY
Faculty
As the years progress, the faculty to student ratio increases due to students either failing or going out. The faculty is quite approachable with some of them even being open to questions during nights sometimes if the students fave too much problem.
Night Life
The campus is quite active at night as well. Some students like to work at night as well hence labs run 24/7 and there are no curfews as such. Discussions are highly encouraged and students adhere to the basic ethequets required.
