Course Curriculum Overview

4

I wanted to learn BSc.Chemitry. Madras Christian college is one of the best colleges in India in terms of faculty and other infrastructure. The syllabus is designed in such a neat manner that. Here we not only learn from the books but we also prepare for real world applications. There is a placement cell which prepares us to attend interviews in future.

Internships Opportunities

3

Internships are available in our college in MRF, where people can do internship but I think stipend is not available.I basically don't know too much about the internships offered by our college. There must be too many projects.I have not done anything internship in MCC

Placement Experience

4

There is a placement cell in our college which makes us able to attend interviews in future. For Bsc Chemistry, we are eligible for campus placements during/after 3rd year. I think in third year you get an annual income or 3.6lakhs. My plan after degree is to take post graduate in chemistry

Fees and Financial Aid

First as donation we paid thirty one thousand (this includes first year fees too), second and third year we need to pay fifteen thousand each. All th students have the same fee structure. Deserving candidates get scholarships too.

Campus Life

4

MCC is well known for both academics as well as non-curricular activities. College auditions are available where students can showcase their talents. Deepwoods , college's biggest programme is also available.we have a big library which almost has books of all genres. Clubs like NCC,NSS,WCC,Scrub society etc are also there.

Admission

I didn't applied to too many colleges.I applied to some colleges in kerala and then Madras Christian college. I got admission in MCC first and comparing to other colleges in kerala MCC ranks top so I chose this. I also wanted to get admission in Delhi University but because of the distance I myself denied going there . The admission in MCC is based on your 12th standard marks.

Faculty

5

The faculty-to-student ratio in MCC is really great.Like we can anytime ask help/guidance from our faculties and they are always willing to help us.they have created an environment in which we can ask any doubts to them. Chemistry department has great and experienced faculties.????????There are three internal exams out of which the second internal is completely an innovative one where a student need not write an exam in a answer sheet. And after 6 months there is a semester exam

Night Life

3

Gym is not available but cafeterias and big library is there. There are hostels inside campus and they are known as halls. The timing to get inside the halls is 6:30pm for girls and 9:30 for boys. Our college is 325 acres of land,so all the places are hangout places for us other than classrooms. The locality outside the campus is not that safe to roam around at night.

Other Applied Colleges

Nutrition and Dietetics department educate the public on healthy eating. Studying nutrition and Dietetics helps individual develop valuable skills in communication, problem solving, research and analytical thinking. Opportunity includes research and development for new food products. The department can lead to careers in universities as professors or research scientist. In the exam, if we want to finish within the time they mention, we should set a time for each question and write accordingly; then only it will be possible to complete it easily.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose bsc computer science because I'm interested in IT jobs and want become a developer. The syllabus is useful for real world learning and it covers important basics. i found subjects like c programming very helpful for understanding core concepts. the curriculum is decent but it needs more practical sessions and better lab facilities. the software and systems in the lab should also be updated. we follow a semester system, and the exams test both theory and practical knowledge. overall the course is good, but more hands on training would make it even better.
