Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course is just academic orientated. No real time problems, industry level practicals or any such related things are shown. It majorly focuses on yohr studies and how much score you get. The subjects are course oriented but just theoretical nothing else. There are only few labs rhat have the machines and instruments that are real life used in industries. There should be a need of good change in theory to practicals ratio. The exams are okayish. The mid sem is provided with question banks and in end sem there is no question bank. The college needs to focus on updating the syllabus according to the current industry requirements rather than teaching olf things. Todays industry dont even use inventor for modelling yet we are taught inventor in cad modeling.

Internships Opportunities

3

Not much companies came for internship we have to find are own internship from outside and provide the letter for the same to the college once in the semester the college brought us to paid internships in a chemical factory and one industry but it was paid and Limited for students mostly people from my batch to internship from outside only. And no no type and was provided for any internships from the college

Placement Experience

3

Placements are average, last years highest Placement for mechanical was 9lpa and average is around 3 to 4 lpa in mechanical. About 50-60% is the placemt rate, and 20 to 30% people go for higher studies. My plan is to go for Placement and if no good Placement is offered going with higher studies and then getting Placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

The general fees for me was 1.5L yearly. But this was for the last barch under non autonomous, after autonomy the fees for the new admission takers has been inceeased by 10-20 thousand. The college provides scholarships for other obc and st/sc. There are benifits like some pay on 50k per year while one of my batchmate who is st pays only 2000rs per year as fees. The college also provides tfws scholarships for few. But the college takes all the fees in one time and no insgallments are provided. Even if it is 1.5L payement.

Campus Life

3

There are two events faces which is a small scale and cultural and sports. And etamax which is a large scale but cultural and technical. Both are low budget only but quite good than usual daily life. Library has good collection of many reference books and textbooks for all subjects and good amount of them. Just that the multimedia section of the library us total waste and useless. The computers look like from 1800s and dont even run properly and are so old and dont even run properly. Classes have projectors where they run ppt but no wifi service for students. There are many cultural and technical clubs in the clg which are fun and informative but no one is funded and all is self funded by the students.

Admission

The eligibility was cet and jee marks based only. The last round cutoff for this college in mechanical was around 80%ile in mhtcet. But it was higher than 95%ile in comps for general. The admission process was easy just bring a cheque and fill up few forms and give documents and done. I had choosen many other colleges over this i even got accepted in mit wpu and talen admission but i am a local mumbai person and i woshed to stay here so i gave up that admission. I also didnt get admission in the crce bandra due to only a small difference in the cutoff. And i had no idea about the ACAP rounds. I understood about acap and tried taking admission in vesit chembur in robotics but idk i changed my mind and stayed in fcrit because i thought i dont like coding at all and thus staying in core mechanical would help me sustain my engineering life.

Faculty

3

The 1st year faculties are really weird. Some are really nice but some have too bad behavior towards students. After 2nd yr the faculties are comparatively good towards students. They help us but some have too useless demands. In a project if u ask them for help instead of finding a solution theyll make u do donkey work for documentation and other things rather than actual helping you in that thing. Rakhi maam, Snehal maam, swapna maam, Nancy maam etc are some good teachers from First year. 2nd year in mechanical specially Amit sir, aqleem sir, Nilesh sir etc are the best in my perspective. They have a good teaching skill with good knowledge and also a good behaviour towards the students. They dont pressurize or bore the students. They help and have a good interaction skills with us. There are majorly only mid sem and end sem now after the autonomy of the college. And multiple internal assessments during the lectures which are considered for evaluation in the cgpa. Only a few fail in this usually during the MU phase 30% students use to fail but after autonomy the failing criteria is eased.

Night Life

2

No night life, gym is uselss its all rusted and broken noone cares to maintain it, the cafetria closes at 4 pm, theres no much things around the clg to do only one good mall in vashi near station. Theres no entertainment things or anything nearby, the locality is residential mostly so it is safe to roam around at night . Hostellers have strict timings . Girls in time is 7pm and boys is 9pm.

Placement Experience:

The students can apply for placements from the 6th semester, but they have to complete the whole 8 semester to start working. Companies like L&T, HCC, J Kumar, TATA Projects are our major recruiters, many MNCs and other top company like to hire from NICMAR. The college has genuine 100% placement, the students who generally do not get placed are ones who have family business or startups. After completing the degree and mostly interested in a job for the 1 to 2 years to gain some experience. Then I may consider options like higher studies or a business.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum includes all the things that needed to be as a CS student , Topics such as AI and ML influenced to take the course. Curriculum provides basic knowledge of all the things ,but I think it fail to provide real life application, they can be achieved by doing projects and internship. Improvements should be done in curriculum as a CS student it feels outdated , we should be covering Java and Python language in 2nd year ,but this is in third year of academic which feels that we're learning at lower pace and getting out of this competitive world. There are 2 sessional exams and one final semester exam, timing is properly managed but for each semester only 3 months is allocated for completion of syllabus , which in my opinion is less ,it should be extended.

For placement, the 6 semesters are eligible for placement. More companies are visiting like Tata, Infosys, TCS, solar industries, Wipro, IBM, adani electricity, etc. The average package is normally 350000 to 400000 and the highest is as per the quality of students. • The percentage required for placement is min 60.00 %. • When these degrees are completed the next plan is to admit to m.tech for extra knowledge.

Glenmark ,IBM, there are placements offered around 3.5 lakhs, 4 lakhs etc. 4-5 lakhs packages are offered. Nearly around 60% to 70% of students got placement.
