Course Curriculum Overview

4

the mbbs course as we all are aware of is very lengthy and tiring and also tricky but it is something which one can come through if driven through it by passion and dedication. the curriculum in starting years may seem like it is not applicable in real life such subjects of biochemistry and physiology in first year but this makes the base for future year subjects and hence are important. the teaching methods are obviously reading from the ppt method but afterall you have to read yourself even if the best teaching method is applied and hence your ability to grasp and learn by yourself is important. the exams are conducted every 3-4 months covering quaterly syllabus finished which helps in revising and reading the syllabus from the start instea of doing it at the time of final exams. the exams are medium in difficulty level and are easy to give if read well.

Internships Opportunities

4

the mbbs course as we all know has 1 year of mandatory internship before the receiving of degree and hence is directly given by the university. the people are posted to certain hospitals in groups and in different rounds monthly. the pay is also good which is around 20 K per month.

Fees and Financial Aid

i am a general category male student who cant have EWS category applied and hence i have to pay the whole year fee of 593000 rupees divided in two equal halves of 296500 rupees half yearly which is to be paid. there is a management quota alloted whose fees is 1800000 yearly. the hostel fees are 15000 yearly not inclusive of food and other charges such as laundry or cleaning of rooms. there is a MYSY scholarship of 220000 rs available for people having income lower than 3 lakh rupees yearly. Also there is an additional kanya kewalni scheme for 4 lakh rupees yearly given to girls. the ST category students are also supported by government and dont have to pay the fees.

Campus Life

4

we have an ADRENALINE named fest yearly which is very popular in medical fraternity in gujarat. also wehave AMCON which is a medical conference which gives great insights. Aprat from that the socia life has been amazing because of the vibrant nature of the ahmedabad city and the location of college itself that is just besides the riverfront. also the libraries and reading rooms are very well equiped with great reading material for free and are given very much importance in these course ofcourse. apart from that the sport tournaments are organised regularly and also between the medical colleges in ahmedabad and gujarat. we do have a gymkhana in the college but it has nothing much to offer than just a TT table present. there is also certain student clubs for stage acting if anybody wants to join.

Hostel Facilities

5

the hostel facility is the best i would say in the whole of medical hostels in the gujarat state. there is a proper room with lockers and two beds for two people per room and also a private washroom per room which is just great. the canteen of the hostel is also just okay because of the affordability but there are many options surrounding the hostel and also zomato to ust get food options sorted. the registration process is also simple and will be told at the time of admission in the college.

Admission

according to my neet score i was able to get any other gmers college apart from gandhinagar and ahmedabad and also other private colleges. i decided to opt this college because i wanted to stay in my hmetown itself which is ahmedabad and not move anywhere far from that. also the fees seemed not too much comparing it from other medical colleges and hence thought it was better to choose this college. the admission process is simple and is well determined by the medical admission process of gujarat by choice filling and alloting the seats according to neet results. after the seat was allocated i had to submit my documents and also pay the fees which meant that i had my admission done.

Faculty

4

the faculty to student ration might seem very seemingly unfair but it is how it is in medical colleges because there is a batch of 250 students and only a few professors per subject but there are tutors and residents and assistants and hence it is not of any concern. also everybody in the teaching staff are approachable and very friendly. there is no concern with any faculty and every professor gives there heart out to just make students learn. now about exams there is a major yearly university exam of the syllabus of subjects studied the whole year. this is the only main exam to worry about because it determines whether you go into next year or not. also there are small internal exams after a certain portion of syllabus is over.

Night Life

5

the nightlife is just great because of how safe the city is. ahmedabad comes in top 5 safest cities in the world and this states it all on how the public areas are. also the increasing developments and investments have transformed the the city and it is just a very beautiful place to live and spend college life. there are no restricitons for library timings in the college and also no timing stopage in hostels also.

Other Applied Colleges

GMERS Medical College & Hospital | Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)

i had a lower ranking in neet result

Course Curriculum Overview:

Being in medical field is one of the greastest oppurtunity i got till today As clinical posting have statred i am able to see how patients are treated with different methods As i am in goverment hospital main area of improvement lies in the hygiene As the syllabus of mbbs is vast and with these many exams students are more in getting and clearing exam rather than learning. So i think frequency of exam should decrease .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is of 5 and a half years including a compulsory internship of one year. The faculty members are very supportive and helpful in nature. I chose this course because I personally had a lot of interest in being a doctor and serving mankind. There is a lot of faculty in each department and have a fine student-to-faculty ratio. Faculty members are well-qualified and most of them are doctors. Term exams are of good level and yes it's a bit difficult to pass, but a hardworking student can easily take over it.

Nowadays exams dates are getting flexible but mostly they are in march to May month Yes, it's tough enough as it is one of the most valued and tough qualification exams. In college, we get many exams monthly very hard though. But the main exams are 3 exams 2 internal exams one is midterm 2nd is before the final exams on full syllabus like preliums And the 3rd one is the final exam university exam ya all of them are very hard to pass.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Choosing the medical field was my dream since childhood. This college provides the perfect environment for studies and overall development required for students. Being the highest ranked medical College in Gujarat and constantly bagging a good ranking in all Indian medical College rankings there are no loopholes in the academic part provided by the college. There are well-experienced and passionate professors and the tutor to students ratio is more than sufficient. Since I joined the college there hasn't been a lecture that went vacant. While talking of academic curriculum our college strictly follows the curriculum provided by NMC. The professors are very much qualified in their field having done their post-graduation and higher studies from the b.j Medical College Ahmedabad itself or various top-notch colleges across India. The testing and marking scheme of the exams are competitive with top colleges. The tests are never delayed and the schedule is tightly monitored.
