Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is so vast and like a ocean. Apart from the theoretical knowledge the college provides a very healthy environment for practical exposure. There are 5 hospitals attached to this college which are the major hospitals of the state.

Internships Opportunities

4

After completing 4.5 years of this course the college provides 1 year of mandatory internship in the college hospital . The state government provides a salary of about 35000 per month during the internship along with incentives.

Fees and Financial Aid

The College fees would be around Rs.80000 per year for all the students. Hostel fees would be charged separately but it would be refunded once you vacate the hostel. So, you would be just paying the message bills monthly which varies from Rs 3000-4000 per month. For Sc St students who come under income limit of 1000000 per annum would be provided with full College fee exemption by the state government. For students who belong to other categories like OBC if they have income of less than 250000 per annum would also get a partial exemption of the college fees by the state government. Apart from the State government benefits you can apply for many scholarships of different foundations like FFE RELAINCE NSF

Campus Life

4

This college provides a complete package with excellent environment for studies and to socialize. There are many clubs like Mental health club , sports clubs , music team , research club etc which help students to overcome stress.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facility is provided for both girls and boys which are very near to the college. Totally there are 3 hostels for boys out of which 1 is beside the college and 2 are about 1 km from the college at walkable distance.

Admission

I had applied for other colleges like AIIMS and Jipmer along with this college. As Karnataka is my home state I preferred getting admission here as it's better than newly constructed AIIMS in terms of hospital patient flow, experienced faculty and alumni.

Faculty

4

There are about 7 to 8 faculties in each department for 250 students. Many of them are the proud alumnis of the same institute. They are so experienced and knowledgeable and have mastered there subjects. Every year we have to undergo 4 exams out of which 3 are internal assessments and 1 is the final university exam. Almost everyone gets passed in the exams

Night Life

4

There is a gym in the college at the ground floor but it lacks a cafeteria. It has a very well maintained library with lots of books , digital books and open till 12 am in the night where students can study for there upcoming exams.

Mbbs is a really tough course we have to be mentally prepared for the course and it takes a lot of hardwork and consistency to complete this course and it's not about the money we get paid later medical is a noble proffesion I chose this course to become a really good doctor and serve the society. The university exams are held in end of the year and we don't have semesters the course is perfect as in wise it's just would ve been better if we would get more time after the syllabus is over to our final exams

Course Curriculum Overview:

Every year we have a set of three internal assessments which assess our knowledge about the specific topics being taught and how caught up are we with the subject. The third internal mimics the final university exam pattern. This form of assessment is quite efficient and beneficial because it helps us to study on a regular basis because we need to pass two out of the three internals to gain eligibility for our final university examination. Apart from the internals we also have formative assessments after every unit of a chapter which is very beneficiary because it helps to keep topics memorised for longer durations. The difficulty of the internal examination ranges from easy to moderate, there are very rare cases of the exam to be extremely difficult.

The college management is exceptionally hard working and they make the environment student friendly! All doubts and queries of students are looked into and cleared as best as they can. The college offers allround development for a student and personally I can see the positive change in me. This college will not only train you to be a good doctor but also a good human being, getting you ready for the big world out there!
