Course Curriculum Overview

4

"The interdisciplinary nature of the curriculum, combining Botany, Zoology, and Industrial Chemistry, was a major factor in my decision. It offers a balanced approach to understanding biological sciences alongside applied chemistry, which aligns with my interest in both environmental and industrial applications." "The curriculum provides a solid foundation in biological and chemical sciences, preparing students for diverse career paths in research, academia, and industry. Practical components like lab sessions and fieldwork in Botany and Zoology enhance real-world problem-solving skills. However, the Industrial Chemistry modules could include more hands-on exposure to industrial processes, which would make the program even more comprehensive." "The curriculum could benefit from incorporating more interdisciplinary projects to bridge the gap between biology and industrial chemistry." "Adding workshops or certification courses in areas like biotechnology, bioinformatics, or green chemistry could make students more industry-ready." "Interactive teaching methods, such as case studies or guest lectures by industry experts, would enhance learning."

Internships Opportunities

3

"The college has collaborations with several companies and organizations offering internships across various domains related to Botany, Zoology, and Industrial Chemistry. Some notable companies include: Pharmaceutical Firms (e.g., Cipla, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories): Roles include quality control intern, research associate, and production assistant. Biotech Companies (e.g., Biocon, Serum Institute): Interns work on research projects, testing biological samples, and assisting in product development. Environmental Consultancies (e.g., EnviroCare, EcoPro): Roles include environmental analyst, sustainability intern, and field research assistant.

Placement Experience

4

From 5th sem students are eligible for the placement. Around 10 percent students get placement from the faculties like commerce, biotechnology and industrial chemistry I have different plans as I'm preparing for other exams

Fees and Financial Aid

If take b.sc with chemistry, the fee will be 6-7k per year and if you take industrial chemistry fee will 15k per year. Fee for B.P.E.S is 14k There is scholarship from the University which is nearly around the fee that you paid for your course.

Campus Life

5

Our college hosts two major events every year. The annual cultural festival, ‘Sanskriti’, is held in February and includes cultural performances, art exhibitions, and intercollegiate competitions. The technical festival, ‘TechVision’, usually takes place in October and provides a platform for students to showcase innovative projects, attend workshops, and participate in technical challenges. The college library is well-equipped with books and journals across Botany, Zoology, and Industrial Chemistry, providing ample resources for academic and research needs. It also offers access to digital platforms for e-books and scientific journals, making resources easily available for students. The library staff is supportive, ensuring students can locate or request resources efficiently.

Admission

I have applied for DU and BHU and I got confirmed addmission in both but I live in agra and college is close to my home and everything about the is perfect so I choose st, John's college Eligibility for my college is 12th pass and have all the basic documents like marksheet and I'd Cards Have to fill the admission form then wait for the list In merit is on the basis of 12th's percentage

Faculty

5

Most of the faculty members are nice and approachable expect few. Faculty of zoology is amezing and HOD sir is very nice with students Same goes for the faculty of industrial chemistry But normal Chemistry might have some issues And I personally don't like faculty of biotechnology and botany. Level of exam is generally moderate and almost students pass the exam There is only end sem exam and some practical exams.

Interview Experience

4

The admission or recruitment process for competitive institutions or organizations often consists of multiple stages to evaluate a candidate’s knowledge, skills, and personality. One common element is the Group Discussion (GD) round. Topics for GDs are typically designed to test critical thinking, communication skills, and awareness of current events. These topics may range from general issues like climate change, digital transformation, or economic policies to abstract ideas such as "Change is the only constant" or "Freedom vs. Responsibility." Preparing for GDs requires staying updated on current affairs, reading widely, and practicing articulation of thoughts in a structured manner. For interviews, questions often revolve around a candidate's academic background, technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and behavioral traits. A strong focus is placed on situational judgment, where candidates are tested on how they respond to challenges. For instance, technical interviews for engineering roles may include coding problems, while MBA interviews might explore decision-making and leadership experiences.

Night Life

3

Sadly there's no night life in our college get closed around 8 o clock but if you join any unit like ncc, nss, or scout guide then you can enjoy night life sometimes when we host camps and bonfire and during campwe can in college for a week

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose bsc bioinformatics as I love programming and research sector as I took pcb in 11th ... I couldn't go for btech ... But then I researched and found about this course which need computer skills with biology background.. a perfect match for someone like me.. after the pandemic and technical growth in biology sector .. bioinformatics became one of the most growing area .. In india it's rare to find people know about this is even a sector so yeah less competition and big opportunities to work abroad .. But I am pursuing this course in this college which have very bad curriculum..the faculty isn't proper to teach us about bioinformatics and we are just study the syllabus of biotech in a mixed class ... I will rate it's a bad idea to pursue bioinformatics from Swami vivekanand subharti university...

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because this was the best-suited course according to my interests. Faculty members were very good they take care of students like their own kids. Student-teacher ratio was 4:1. Some professors were p.hd holders and some were qualified in research projects needed for this course. There used to be internal and external exams and the difficulty level were average.
