Review of IIT ISM DHANBAD

Course curriculum is good for some subjects and also very hard for some subjects. Like electrical core subjects are generally medium to hard but good points is managerial and Humanities subjects are very easy and proffesor also give good grades in that. Like one my one subject is modern physics which is very interesting but same time hard also. But like my one course of humanities is Indian society and culture which is very easy. There will be 4 exam per semester 2 quizzes respectively of 10 marks each and 1 mid semester of 30 marks weightage but paper may be of 60-100 marks which boils down to 30 marks . For endsem paper is of 100 marks which wiegthage is 50% . So scoring good in endsemeter will increase chance to got good grades.

In 3 Rd year end that is after 5 th sem college provide the internship opportunities. Many prestigious company come in college for providing internship like for software profile Google , microsoft, goldmansacs , Atalasian, flipkart, Amazon , Sprinklr, Barclays, Uber , De shaw and many more . Many more companies also visit for consultancy, business Analyst etc like Morgan stanley, Accenture etc . Fir core domain also many companies visit like bazaz, Tata , texas instruments, Intel , L and T and many more .

Overall campus placement for IIT ISM Dhanbad is decent . Highest package till now is 1.2 cr and lowest package is 6 lpa . This year also since phase 1 of placement season completed almost 600+ students got placed with highest domestic package is 66 lakh . 80-90% students got placed in this college. If your cgpa is above 7 chances of getting placed is very high. So maintaining good cgpa is very necessary. Placement season start from oct end of 7 th sem and phase 1 of placement completes in 20-25 dec . After that phase 2 of placement starts from 4-5 january onwards . Highest package offer on day 1,2 of placement season. Since I got placed in Bharat petroleum corporation limited (BPCL) my plan is to join BPCl and then go on higher post in same company.

Basically the fees structure of the IIT ISM Dhanbad is 1 lakh per semester is tution fees for general and OBC category. But fir sc/st it is free . Mess fee will be there for every category students it will be around 18000 per semester. Now at time of admission they take 5000 one time payment that is refundable after completion of course . Hostel fees will be 1000 per semester. And for all other facilities like library , lab fees , hostel facilities and sports facilities and others are around 5000 per semester so the fess will be around 1.25 lakh per semester. Now for economically weaker peoples college provide tution fees waiver. If family salary is under 1 lakh per year they provide 100% fee waiver on tution fee . If family income is above 1 lakh but below 5 lakh they provide 66.7% tutuoon fee waiver . After all these if someone need financial support college provide MCM scholarship for those whose family income is below 6 lakh and having cgpa of 6 and above . Many more scholarship are there for economically weaker people so it is easy to study in this college for every people without the burden of fees.

Overall campus life is good since campus is very big and decent climate is there also theere are many clubs in college some are cultural club like dancing,music , fotofreaks, Artfreaks,Light camera action etc .. some are technical like cyberlab, codeism etc.. some are sports club like cricket, hockey, football, Badminton, weightlifting and many more . Olympics size swimming pool is also there . Hostel infrastructure are also good.

College provide hostel facilities for all all the students. They charge very minimal for hostel like 1000 rupees per semester and 5000 for other facilities. They provide single room for final year students and double occupancy for 1,2 and 3 Rd year students. 1 St year hostel is different 2 and 3rd year student status together in same hostel but wings are different. For final year student also separate hostel is there . They provide all basic facilities like table ,chair bed , Lan , wifi hanger curtains , drawal 1 tubelight and 1 bulb , fan all basic facilities are provided.

Firstly my dream is to go to IIT college because of its good placement and very big and beautiful campuses with all facilities. Secondly since my rank is 9k in jee advance . My first priority is circuital branch in first generation IIT so I prefer IIT ism Dhanbad electrical over computer science branch in second or third generation IIT . Secondly since I love physics I want to pursue that type of courses where logically thinking involved. Admission process is easy there is one portal name as jossa where you have registered yourself and then you need to fill the priority of college and branch according to your priority and rank you got college there will be 6 round in that if you don't got good college in first round go for further chances will be high you got good colleges. My suggestion is to consider both branch and college during filling the priority of your college selection since it will impact further during placements. For admission in IITs you must need to clear jee mains and advanced and atleast 75% marks in 12th board exam .

Faculty member are generally professor who have done PhD from either iit or foreign . They are very experienced and teaching style is also good .But some facilities are also who think students know everything and skip the basics which will cause the issues. Like in my department almost all proffesor are chill except some who are very strict for class timing and attandance . 75 % attandance criteria is must for sitting in semester exam . Best facilities is Anirban ghosal sir his way of teaching is just awesome and also whatever he taught in class is sufficient to score good in semester exam. Also is very chill for attandance and class timing. Exam are generally comprises of 2 quizes of 10 marks each and 1 mid semester of 30 marks and endsemeter of 50 marks weightage respectively. It is easy to score high in quizes and midsemester beacuse generally the Endsemeter paper is hard because it consists the the entire syllabus. Since the IIT ISM Dhanbad having relative grading system so grade are relative based on the your rank in class . Generally top 10% students got A+ , next 15% got A and next 45% got B+,B and next 10-20% got C+,C and rest 10% either for D grade to just pass or F grade meaning fail in that subject but generally proffesor don't give F grade until you score very very less .

Night life of inside the campus is very good since campus is open trough out the night all the food stalls are open till 12 pm . And there is vending machine which is all time available for food items. Especially for couples many garden are there ????. But outside the campus you are allowed till 10 pm only so that is only restriction.
