A review on USTM

I love the curriculum a lot. They are like school environment, the teachers guide all the students and help us in each moment. They provide coaching for competitive exams like UPSC, NET/SLET etc which was my main reason for selection of this university. The exam paper are moderate to difficult with exams in every month...3 sessonal exams followed by Finals

The placement drive begins for students from their second year of college. Companies like HDFC, TATA, Flipkart etc came to our college Around 5-10% students get placement every year After my degree i plan to go into the reseach field by cracking the CSIR NET exam.

The fees per semester is 53000, while the monthly hostel fees is 7350. It is a 2 year course so i will be paying around 4 lakh. Some of batchmates get a concessions 50% in their semester fees because of their merit . Some others also get 30% concession for being below poverty line

The overall experience of the campus is awesome. There is a huge library where books are available for students all departments, sports field where various sports including tennis, cricket, football, badminton etc can be played There is also a horse riding club

In the hostel they provided us a table, chair, bed and an almirah. They quality of the food is not that great but food is provided 3 times plus one snack in the evening. The registration for the hostel can be done during admission time only by paying a caution deposit of ten thousand rupees.

I applied in Gauhati University but didnt get selected there because I couldn't crack their entrance exam. The main advaantage of Gauhati University over my University is that it is a government University and requires less money Since it is a private University so no entrance exam is held for admission into it. You just need to have a minimum percentage of marks and come for admission before the seats are filled

There are 15 faculty member in our department and total students is 250 (approx). So the ratio of students to teacher is 1:15. The teachers are very helpful and approachable. The faculty whom i like the most is Dr. Kamal Chy. He is very helpful and explains every concept in detail. I love all the teachers and don't dislike any. 3 semester exams are conducted in each semester followed by a final exam. 5-6 students get back in any paper sometimes

There are eatery in the campus which remains open till late (but only for boys). The food in the campus is good okayish type. We roam inside the hostel premise at night The timing is upto 6pm at night.
