Course Curriculum Overview

3

Though the advancements of technologies makes complex things into a simple task and working in micro level makes some curiosity which makes me to choose this course . Here I have a concern about the staff members since we didn't get any freedom

Internships Opportunities

5

We have to get the letter of recommendation from the head of the department to apply internships most of students gets internship in laboratories and manufacturing sides to get an idea about industrial knowledge

Placement Experience

2

Placement is not good really since we didn't get any recruitment from core subjects only interdisciplinary related companies will recruit that too at low package. But most of the students prefer to skip the placement

Fees and Financial Aid

First year admission fee is around 1200 , then there will two semester exam fees which is 1100 and 1500 . Second year admission fee is 600 and semester exam fees will increase due to the credits for internship and some other activities so approximately around 4k will be the total second year fees which includes two semester exam fees also but semester exam fees were paid at different times. Since Presidency college is a top tier college so getting a scholarship is very easy like NSP, state scholarship but state scholarship is limited to only tamilnadu students

Campus Life

4

Functions such as Pongal and annual sports day were celebrated. There will be a day for felicitating the rank holders in every academic year and clubs like NSS,NCC and some other clubs are actively involving

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel infrastructure is very bad since there is no RO plant and uninterrupted water supply and there is no wifi . Meal is not good . Registration process will be completed within a day . At the time admission they will try to allot a room

Admission

I applied presidency mainly for its NIRF ranking since it was ranked 3 rd in the year 2023 at the time of my admission, there is no entrance exam to get an admission here , if we score more than 75 percentage it's eligible even at sometimes below the above said percentage could also get

Faculty

3

Staffs are bit strict in handling the students. Exams were very easy. Anyone can score more than 40 out of 75 external marks , internal marks will be given based on the performance in academics. There are only few staffs in my department

Night Life

4

There is no gym within the premise even at hostel also , hostel is good but food is very concerning one but there are many affordable hotels were located near the hostel, Shopping mall is not too far from the hostel and there is a cricket stadium near the college campus

Placement Experience:

Actually I am currently in seconnd semester right now, I am not sure about the eligiblity criteria for campus placements. But I gathered some informations about the placement process with the help of students who completed their degree here recently. Most of the students having skills in demand based on the company requirements will get selected. Companies with good reputation will visit during campus placements. My aim was to getting placed in a company with good reputation and descent salary package.

From the last previous semester, students can avail themselves of campus interviews. Students who have Harriers are not given opportunities because it's in the companies criteria. Cognizant, Zoho, Infosys, Wipro. Every year at least 10 students get selected. Average is 10,000-15,000 per month 10-15% of students getting placed. I plan to study for competitive exams like UPSC.
