A Perfect College Life For A Cadet To Become An Officer.

First of all the course i am pursuing is very rare and there are countable institutes that provides degree in this course. The curriculum prepares us by making us a all rounder in this field giving real time applications and much more. The exams are conducted in every month and the level of the exams is intermediate.

The college provides free internships on various ports of the country. The internships are provided in 2nd, 3rd and 4th year of the college. But as we go on board on ship for training of 6 months with our placed company MAERSK. At college we are told to do various projects like, making a remote control boat and competing with various other teams, making a go-cart, any many more. We learn a lot from these projects. We do mistakes and learn from it, thus we try to improve it.

The placement is given to students before entering the college itself i.e., AMET IST MCE college. The placement is given by MAERSK if they clear AMET CET exam , IMUCET , MAERSK interview and other necessary requirements. So the placement is 100%.

The year wise fees for my course is around 4 lakhs. Admission and Registration Fees :- 25000 Tution Fee :- 65000 Food and Accomodation Fee :- 30000 Laundary service Fee :- 1000 Unifrom, Marine Accessories, Medical service :- 15000 Girls Cadet get some relaxation from government as well as college in their fees for encouragement of girls in this industry. There are various schorlarships that they provide which includes:- 1) Merit Scholarship :- For those who scored more than 80% in 10+2 in any board.

The sports and extracurricular activities are very less. As the campus is under constuction, the campus is developing rapidly. But the campus is situated in a greenary and fresh environment. The discipline in the college is at high level as officers are trained here. The range of books and journals available in the library are excellent and are easily accessible. Smart boards are used in the classes also a a good amount of computer labs are available. Each and every festival is celebrated with high enthusiasm and enjoyment.

The meal that is provided to us is like a you can say is not less than a restaurent. The menu is really well made and they provide healthy food. You will surely not miss your home food here. Moving towards hostel every necessary facilities are provided here such as wifi, clean toilets, beds and bedsheets with proper pillow , a cupboard, etc. This course is a compulsary residential course, thus no need to resister separately for it.

I applied in the top 4 colleges in this field i.e., Tolani Maritime Institute, IMI Noida, SIMS Mumbai And AMET with MAERSK sponsorship at Chennai. I chose this college because i got MAERSK sponsorship and also the fees comparavtively to other colleges is less. Taking about the admission procedure, we need to clear IMUCET and the AMET CET exam and alsowe need to clear the interview with MAERSK (if passes AMET CET exam). Then the comapny conducts the psychological test in which we need to pass. Then we need to complete our medicals from DGS approved doctor and the comapny approved doctor to get into the college. Passport is mandatory while admission. Around 15000 students gets selected in IMUCET exam every year. The cutoffs may vary depending on the competition and students applying for the exams.

The faculties here are highly supportive and provides a great knowlege to the cadets. They respect the ideas of students and are highly approachable. They be friendly with the students and always guides them. They maintain the learning environment in the classes. They are always and anytime available for solving your doubts it may be online through chats or calls or physcially. Gauri Shankar Sir is the best sir i like as he provides a perpect knowledge and gives many real life examples. The course curriculum is fully relevant. There are 5 exams conducted per semester i.e., CAT1, CAT2, Model, Practical and End Semester exams. The exams are of intermediate level. Almost all the studnets pass the exams. The failing ratio is very less.

At night there's a clear sky every day where you can see stars clearly. As it is a maritime college so no one is allowed to hang outside in the night after 8:15pm. On a regular day we need to leave hostels by 8:45 am. The college closes at 3:30pm. Library closes at 5pm. The Gym is available from 4pm to 6pm after returning from the college. The cafeteria is available from morning 8am to evening 8pm and provides a good amount of variety of food.
