- The best thing about college is the experienced professors and the regularity of classes which is very good to have as an experience.
- Taking admission in Pune for engineering and want a campus life, then this is the best college.
- Infrastructure is quite large as every branch has uts own separate building with separate floors for each year.
Dislikes
- The ratio of placements to that of the admission is poor.
- The increase in local goons in the campus deteriorates the environment of the campus.
- Not much exposure to sports organised by the department or college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is totally decided by the university which is Savitribai Phule Pune University and delivered by the College faculties. So any change in course is done by university.The insems are easy as compared to the endsems.If you learn the subjects by yourself from starting then you will be a ranker. Never get dependent on teachers
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are available through the professors, they give contacts of many places where there is internship. Every HOD or senior teacher of every department has there own links, and they provide the access to the students
Placement Experience
Students become eligible to sit in placements from the end of 6th semester. The main criteria for shortlist in most companies is no backlogs and more than 70% in 10th and 12th and some have relaxation upto 60%. Highest can go upto 13-18 lpa on campus and the minimum could be anywhere between 2 to 3 lpa.There are many opportunities right from the end of 6th semester but the students at that time are not prepared and few get specifically prepared and they grab the best of offers
Fees and Financial Aid
My year wise fees was always around 15000 and I had a government post-matric scholarship which subsidised my fee which in general is around 127000.So the development fees is only for the first year and year onwards there is only tuition fees which is always around 15000 rupees. if the admission is taken from the management quota then the fees is near to 127000.My category was VJNT which is in OBC.
Campus Life
Overall experience is excellent. There are many clubs, Sinhgad Student Council membership is to be taken forst for part in any club. Art club is the most active as they take part in every events occuring. Sinhgad is full of events, there will be many events in the 4 year course.
Hostel Facilities
In the hostels provided by college, there are 4 students for one room. The social exposure is the best of facilities.I would recommend, live your first year in hostel or maybe also the second year and then you can live in rented flats.Living in flat is cost efficient
Admission
To be honest this college was at like number 20 on my list and I got admission in it, honestly I tried taking admission in colleges like PCCOE, PICT VIT which are better than SCOE but I couldn't get it.My admission was on the basis of CET score
Faculty
The faculties in every department are enough, but teachers can leave the college unprecedentally like the MLAs leaving their party to join other where there is more money. Every department has 2 or 3 stupid teachers who have no knowledge of what they teach. Teachers like Shashank Bholane, Nilesh Bhojne and Mayuri Khade are reasons why there is faith in Sinhgad still.There are university exams every semester and the internal exams for every department at there level. But in Computer department there is so much relaxation to exams and other stress of engineering.
