What Students Say
Likes
- The campus is a peaceful place with well-educated students from across the country & the ambience is great with all the greenery. The cafeteria is hygienic and affordable. The teachers seem well-versed with their subjects.
- Little to no fights which is a big plus when compared to other colleges of the university. Students are helpful and supportive
Dislikes
- The water is filled with chlorine and totally non-consumable. The students’ water taps don’t work most of the time and when they do, the water is really slow and warm. The staff has separate water coolers that work but student entry is not allowed.
- Washroom are a very big problem in college campus. Similar to the drinking water facility, students have bad washrooms with unbearable smell and broken locks whereas staff washrooms seem fine. Sanitary napkin dispensers are just for show.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am interested in the commerce field and thus i chose this course since it offers an insight on the managerial economics, accounting system followed by businesses , laws related to business and the dangers and precautions to be taken by a firm. This prepares one for when they start their own business as the course is updated regulary with new laws and proper accounting standards, the do's and don'ts in a business. The course should also introduce a subject for managing finances and saving money, investing and stuff like that so children understand the stock market concept and regulate savings . Exams are 3 hours long and I think they are at a medium difficulty level to suit different children.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees is the same for students of all categories as per university guidelines but the college provides a concession for the economically weaker students based on their family income. I paid an yearly fees of ?13035. This included tuition fee. lab fees etc. T
Campus Life
Fests and Programs are a frequent thing in our college that acts as its plus point since it gives everyone a chance to participate and get extra points in their resume for co-curricular activites and also boost their knowledge and managerial skills. Since there are so many cultural and societal fests organised almost every alternate week, it is hard to remember their names but the societies come up with creative ideas for the fests. This gives them a chance to explore their imagination and make the programs interesting for the viewers. The library has a wide range of books and journals including curricular books, fictions, stories, general knowledge and possibly all categories of books. They are easily accessible to everyone in the college but one needs a valid college id card to issue them.
Admission
Admission process has completely shifted from cut-off system to the Cuet Exam which gives students an opportunity to apply to as many colleges as they want at the same time. Same was the story with my college. I set this college as my 3rd preference and I got it as the first two colleges were Ramjas and Hindu College and my Cuet scores were not at par with their requirement. This was the only college I got a confirmed admission from and I gave the exam for 2 consecutive years. I had no choice but to study in this college even though it is 3 hours away from my home .
Faculty
A teacher has a class of 35 students on an average which makes it easier for them to focus on every student. Most of the teachers are approachable and friendly. Some are the strict type but they understand students' problems if they seem genuine . Teachers try to interact with students and relate to them for a better understanding. The teacher I liked most is Rajbir Sir of Hindi department. He is very soft spoken, friendly and sweet and he allowed me to present my project days after the due date when I had a family emergency. He makes sure that each student understands the topic word by word and repeats as many times as he has to. There isn't any teacher I didn't like because I understand it is a tough job managing so many children while trying to finish the syllabus on time and making sure everyone is getting it. Teachers take tests on a monthly basis that account to the Internal Assessment and then the final exams happen according to the schedule. Around 10-12 students fail the exams in different subjects in a section that consists of 50-55 students. The difficulty level is generally medium but always relevant to the curriculum .
