Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course I am studying is relevant for the date. Although some concepts are outdated, but as a whole it is really good. The curriculum and teaching is on date. The frequency and timing of exams are in between every 1.5 months. I think area of improvement should be in management of lectures.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The companies approach internships in the 3rd year of our course. In the last semester we need to carry out different internship programs and courses for qualifying for the campus selections.Projects include surveys, social behaviour etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees paid was 30,000 for maharashtrian students. For non-maharashtrian students it was 35,000 rupees. Regarding overall fees it was included in the above fees mentioned. My batchmate who is a non- maharashtrian paid the same as his fees. The scholarships include the from government , also from above merit students scoring 90% above. Overall the fee structure and scholarship are affordable for education.

Campus Life

5

The campus life and culture is not being so famous. But overall the events frequency is really good. Many workshops and culture festivals are conducted for grooming the student to maximum level. Various clubs are formed to carry out these events. The sports and extracurricular activities are in parallel to the academics.

Admission

I didn't faced any rejection as such because this was the only college I applied and got admission. The admission process starts from form filling right upto to fees payment. There was no as such eligibility for the admission. Of course the minimum base marks we required for it.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty to student ratio is 2 for every 50 students. The relationship between both is friendly for all the time. I loved the way they interacted in class and on educational trips. Overall we have 2 unit tests and 2 semester examinations. It is all related to our core knowledge about our field.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course is recommended for the students who want to pursue a career in the finance field or if someone who is looking to a course like CFA, this bachelors degree becomes handy. This course teaches you about the financial spectrum of the whole world and gives you an intricate understanding about different financial instruments and their relevance in the society. It teaches one of the most sought after skills in today's world, that is financial literacy. Still I think some of the subjects introduced under the NEP are completely irrelevant such as EVS and IKS. We as college students need to give quality time on some professional subjects, not that these subjects are not important but they need to be emphasised in the early classes. There are three internal exams of 10 marks each and 20 minutes for each paper. The end sem exam is of 30 marks for minor subjects and 60 marks for major subjects. Also I feel that the difficulty level is okay.

Remarks:

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.

Admission:

I entered college quite late like at the end of July. I got in on the basis of my 12th marks which were 85%. But if someone holds merit above 70% then you can easily get into MITWPU BCom program. You should apply for it beforehand and the merit lists will be declared around 2nd or 3rd week of June.
