All about NMIMS SHIRPUR - from campus to academics to hostel

In first year, we have C++ and Python, two of the most important coding languages. We also have mathematics and physics in first year. Data Structurea and Algorithms, an important topic is also taught in the 7th semester. We also have subjects like Design thinking, Professional ethics and Environmental Science for soft skiils. There are subjects like Constitution of India which students find useless. There are 3 exams per semester, 2 mid terms and 1 end semester exam. We also have internal assessment like presentation and class participation.

There are many unofficial internship opportunities being circulated around the college groups for first year students. The placement cell also helps with internships in the 2nd and 3rd year. Teachers also going ve us advice on what skills to develop to secure internships.

Students become eligible for placements after 3rd year i.e. 6th semester. Last year 65% students got placed ( this was due to the dip in job market). The highest package was 21LPA and Average package was 9.91 LPA. Top companies were Oracle, Accenture, Bosch etc.

The tution fees of 1 year is 2 lakhs and hostel fees is 1.66 lakh. So you end up paying around 14-16 lakh for 4 years.This fees is the same for all branches of BTech. You can also opt for laundry services ( not compulsory) and you have to pay around 2k per year fot that.

There are usually 3 fests held in the college. Flavium - the sports fest, Ambiora - the tech fest and Protsahan - the cultural fest. All these take place between December and March. There are many different clubs ranging from app development club, atrangi the art club, rang drama club, finance club and dance clubs too. A lot of festivals are also celebrated including Janmashtami, Ganesh chaturthi, Navratri etc. The library spans in an area of 45000 sq ft with around a capacity of 500 students. The library has both physical and digital books and resources.

The hostel are 4 sharing with a bed, cupboard and study table provided to each student. The rooms are spacious with one fan over every bed. AC rooms are provided only on request. The food provided is okay but sometimes usually on weekends international and continental food is provided.

NMIMS takes an admission exma called NMIMS CET throught which it takes admission in all its campuses - Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Shirpur, Chandigarh, Indore etc. The counseling after the exam takes place in its main Mumbai campus. I chose this college because NMIMS in itself is a brand name which is very reputable throughout the country. I also have family friends who have passed out from NMIMS Shirpur and have said good things about the college.

Many faculties are helpful with academics and doubts and even ready to hear personal problems. Sugam Sir, our biology teacher is the best ans the most chill teacher ever. There are 3 exams every semester, 2 mis terms and 1 end semester exam. The curriculum is relevant and makes students industry ready. Subjects like Critical Thinking, Design thinking and Professional ethics also develop our soft skills.
