Entrance Exam

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course is carefully arranged. From the basic level to the advanced level things are leveled up gradually for the students to cope up with the curriculum gradually. A lot of focus is given on the practicals which provide a lot in hand knowledge.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the college provides internships and training to the interested ones. Most of the undergraduate internships are unpaid which is similar to other colleges all over the country. The internships help the students to learn a lot and also the appraisal they get help in sharpening the future prospect in the field.

Placement Experience

3

For Marine engineering, placements begin at FIRST YEAR itself. Maersk line is a bulk recruiter from this college throughout. Most of the companies that visit and recruit students from the campus are multinational companies such as CHEVRON, SEA TEAM, GOOD WOOD, SHELL which are shipping Giants to be named as some and there's a lot more.

College Events

3.5

Each department hosts their own fests. Like the MARINE ENGINEERING DEPT hosts MARINE TRAFFIC in which various colleges from all over India come to take part. Likewise, the Nautical Science Dept conducts NAVINAUTICS which is also a national level symposium. The physical education Dept conducts AMET UNISPO which is basically a mega sports event which is attended by various colleges all over the country. Also, international conferences are held where various eminent persons from abroad come and provide us with their knowledge and experience.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's the same as other Marine engineering courses. 13.5 lakhs for me for a term period of 4 years .which includes everything including Foooding, accommodation, the semester fee and everything that is required. Personal expenses put aside.

Fees and Financial Aid

The scholarship is offered to the ones who are economically weak and also for the first graduates under various schemes by the government and also by the university. Meritious students are often rewards and hence motivated for better performance onward.

Campus Life

3

There's a swimming pool for the cadets and students, a dedicated ship on the campus for Marine engineering students for in hand training. Also, there is an engine room simulator and a bridge room simulator bought all along from NORWAY. State of art labs is provided to make sure that the standards are maintained.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel infrastructure is good. A decent room which is 4 sharing. Bunker beds are provided. All around the clock electricity and water is available and also security guards are there all around the clock. Laundry is provided and also there's a saloon for the cadets.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors and alumni are extremely helpful. We are connected all year around through social media and they enlighten us what's the real-time situation in our field hence giving us a broader overview. The alumni and seniors share the experience with us which helps us to broaden our prospects.

Exam Structure

Internals are based on regular assignments being taken during the normal class days. Internal included 40 marks in total in which Midterms and model exams are included . 15 marks for midterms; 15 marks for model exams, 5 for attendance and 5 for assignments. The rest 60 is reserved for the SEMESTER exam.

Admission

AMET conducts an entrance examination which takes place around April or May every year. Based on the merit list. Names are enlisted. Got through the exam and a series of medical tests cleared after which got my admissions

Faculty

3.5

The facilities are good. There are chief engineers who have served in the ships with most of them having experience more than 35 years hence a pool of experienced faculties. Doubts are cleared and special classes for the ones who lag back in studies
